yah... its in way better condition than when the US started coming in... and although its not in the best condition now... its getting better... but what do you expect... the whole contry to be stable in a few months... keep in mind that the war in iraq was the fasted war *ever* fought in the history of the world... so why are you so impatient... if it takes more that 5 years to finnish up in iraq... than you can complain... |

Jesus, I can't believe the negativity of you civilian types who have never been to Iraq and would never go. Do you believe any cause is worth fighting for? Do you believe that anything that is difficult is still worth doing? My fellow soldiers, sailors, airmen and Marines have helped create two democracies in the last 5 years. What have you done? |

The USA ultimately cannot restore order or create a government in Iraq or any other country. This is something they will have to do themselves. Until their own security forces are in place however, the USA presence is required to maintain a semblance of order. To pull out is to commit Iraq and the rest of the Middle East to a regional war with very severe consequences .. for THE WORLD. |

Unless you keep re-defining it, sure! Only the few worst sections of Iraq are more dangerous than Chicago or DC. How much order do we need before we're allowed to call it successful? |

Unfortuneatly probaly not..I used to say nuke em' but then my heert tells me there ar innocent babies thier and, i feel for them but unfortuneatly we cant make it peaceful there,the people have to WANT peace. We need to worry about stopping our country from coing further down hill. |

Yes, some Order has been restored in fact but the Liberal Media likes to report only on the Negatives and not the Positives.
There are a lot of Positive things in Iraq, in fact Iraq is actually a lot safer than Washington, D.C. believe it or not.
Yes Insurgents are still a problem but we're working on it.
By the way Clinton sent us to former Yugoslavia and we still have troops in those areas but no one is complaining about that.
Geen why the complaints about Iraq and not former Yugoslavia, how do we know that no dangers exist in former Yugoslavia? |

No, they made a frightful mess of everything and it's much too late to fix things now. The best thing they can do in Iraq is get out. The next best is to prepare for evacuation under fire, by air from secure landing grounds. Kuwait would be the place to run to
and secure avenues thence should be kept open. |

No one has implied that it is up to the US to restore the order in Iraq. It is clearly up to the Iraqi people to secure their own country, and they have come a long way in doing so. I can't wait for the day that they are secure enough in their own abilities to allow the Coalition forces to return to their own homes. |

Impossible. To even believe that is possible is not to understand the Tribal nature of the Arab, and the feeling of shame he feels when an outsider tries to organise his home. If the US is in Iraq for 40 years, it will never appease the Iraqis and or its neighbours. I ask you, why do you not see more Arab support to end this Quagmire? The US has a lot to learn. Isolationism since WWII has led the politicians to a false premise.

yes & no. Yes order will be restored. It will happen only after we leave by power of the Iraqis themselves, but that would not have been possible w/o us there. So by proxy, yes, eventually. |

I think they are. The new government - military & police are having training, but it will take time. We have excellent training for our military but they are having to train undisplined military & police. They will walk off to go home without telling anyone. We are making progress. |
