Very much so... I have been there and seen what we was done to those people and the progress we are making. Apparently most of ya'll favor another 9/11.... If we don't fight the war there IT WILL come here. |

i think no one would favour any WAR!!! |

Only a madman would "favor" a war. The real question is do you favor leaving before the job is done, that is losing, or staying until we have an outcome good for this country and the Iraqis. I think the latter can be achieved with good leadership and a continuation of substantial force. |

I don't favor any war PERIOD.
I am realist enough to know that war happens and we need to do it right and finish the job or we will reap a whirlwind that is beyond the pale.
If we run away the horror that will happen with Muslim terrorists setup base camps and Iran over runs Iraq.
Yet some very short sighted people think all are problems would be solve by talking nice to this evil.
For them I point them to http://www.thereligionofpeace.com to marvel at their current handy work. |

Only people with shares in oil and defense corporations.
From a moral humanitarian perspective, I have no idea how anyone could support it. |

Well, I think the president could have picked a better target (Iran, maybe), but I believe in the long run bringing freedom to the Middle East will create a catalyst for positive change throughout the region.
Whatever folks may think of the president today, he will be revered by future generations of Iraqi schoolchildren for bringing them out of their Dark Ages. |

I do.
After having 5+ years of MTV bombarding the nation's airwaves with the message that the war in Iraq just isn't cool, I'm still not sold. |

The war was over a long time ago. The only good thing about what we are doing now is killing terrorists. Is it worth the price? You choose, I can't. |

NOPE!!! But even though we are over there spending Billions a day to make sure that the people of Iraq feel safe in there homes while we have homeless dying here every day and people dealing drug to people that OD and die every day and many more crime that we don't have the money to make and hire more law enforcement and build prisons to bring it down. we can't just back out now that we're in it. People refer to the soldiers that have been killed in action as murdered. they need to look at all the low income and people that could have used some help and died because it wasn't there because all the money was sent to another country so the citizens of that country could feel safe at home. |

I don't agree with how and when we went to war in Iraq---..but I completely support my country's force of all volunteer soldiers serving in Iraq AND for the removal of Saddam Hussein from power. |

No, I don't agree with the West's involvement in Iraq. That is to say that I think that the premise on which America, Britain and other countries decided to invade is very shaky indeed. I have to agree, though, with the majority of Iraqis that to end Saddam's regime was, on the whole, positive.
What happens now is very much up to moderate Iraquis to sort out - with help from the British and Americans. The problem is that moderates, while being the majority, are (by definition) 'moderate' and do not make as much noise or cause as much damage as the extremists (who are, inevitably, in the minority).
I really do not know whether Iraq would have sorted itself out without our (the West's) help. I do not know, either, whether it will turn out that we were 'invited in' (as the Romans were invited to invade Britain). What I do know is that there are many British and American soldiers there doing a job that they have been told and trained to do ... and doing it (on the whole) very well. I cannot do other than commend them as a whole for following orders sensitively. There have, nevertheless, been a few who (not being fit for the job) have transgressed and have been in the news for it.
I am not, nor ever have been, in favour of taking sides in Iraqi politics or of even helping them solve their problems. I have always believed (and still do) that it wasn't about W[eapons] O[f] M[***] D[estruction] or about [T/t]errorism but about Oil So how is it that, now we appear to be on the pont of 'winning' (i.e. withdrawing from Iraq), oil prices have suddenly shot up dramtically? It is all far more complicated than that, I have to conclude.
I can understand those who either support the 'war' (because their sons/daughters/friends/friends-of-friend... are involved) or see it as a 'done deed' and need to support their country regardless of the rightness or wrongness of the decision to 'go in'.
Nobody I know is involved, though my taxes are - but that is another matter! - so I can only state my views from that standpoint. |

The Vikings had wars just to pilfer and gain prosperity.
It worked out for them. Robbing and Rapping others of
their resources, just because they were to lazy to raise
their own cattle or much of anything else.
I think that they would be in favor of the Iraq war.
I'm not of Viking decent, so No I'm not. |

Definitely not!!
Bush and Co. lied to take us into this war. If you remember, the original rationale was to get "weapons of mass destruction". Well, there aren't any....and there weren't any!! It was a big lie.
Secondly, neither Saddam nor any other Iraqi had anything to do with 9/11. Those guys were in Afghanistan. And do you know why we haven't caught those guys yet??? Because we decided to take all that funding and military might....and then waste it on Iraq.
So not only are we stuck in a huge quagmire in Iraq in which we have wasted well over a trillion dollars already, but we haven't even caught the two main figures behind 9/11. I read the other day that well over 150,000 Iraqis have been killed since the beginning of the war. 2007 was the deadliest year of the war as well. On top of that, this war is not about fighting terrorists.....it has created terrorists where there weren't any to begin with.
It has been an unbelievable waste of lives, a waste of money, a waste of our national credibility, and a waste of time. |
