Does anyone know If the troops in Iraq get to use the net?

Yes they do - I don't know if they can check their mail or just send it but we sent my bf's cousin a letter and he replied by email so I know that he can send you emails - at least his cousin could.

I am not sure about the ims or messenger, etc- find out when you talk to him though

yes they do they have internet cafe's and can get it in there rooms, gl to him and girl stay strong were working on our 2nd deployment.

yes they do! well actually depends where they are at! becuz my dad is in Iraq and his squad get the computer! but then again he is a Cheif so he has his own station and tell ppl wat to do! im proud of my dad!!!

Yes, they have access to the internet. Some have more access than others, but they do get access. I have a coworker who's son is in Iraq and is able to send emails (with picture attachments) about three times a week. I have another friend who has a son in Iraq that sends about 2 a month. I don't know if it's because he has less access to the internet...or just isn't that interested in using it.

The internet is all over Iraq. The military even has internet cafes set up for use.

Hi I am a military wife and yes they do have Internet connection and as soon as he gets there they will give them an address an everything else, however there is a spouses community called the FRG (Family Readiness Group) that helps spouses/girlfriends/fiances/family with the deployment and they should keep you updated, also there is a website that has been designed to keep the families updated through the net which is a virtual frg, you will have to contact your boyfriend's Commander to get this information.

My son was there. He took a coputer with him and yes he had internet, But it was so busy at times that he could not get on. Also they had to get different carriers so he might go a couple of weeks without the net.

They have buildings ran by SPAWAR, MCS, and various other companies. Its all free, though you have to pay in Kuwait.

All military personnel in Iraq have access to the internet and to phones.

DEFINITELY. Just like home, they will have most of it. The only thing is that they will not be able to talk about alot of stuff.

Yes they do, they have access to yahoo, aim, msn, and pretty much every other company for messaging. My husband got back a few months ago and he had access to it all, his brother is over there now and I talk to him on yahoo too.
