Does my Husband get BAH in Boot Camp?

Yes he will get BAH while in Boot Camp based on your zip code. Things have changed from several years ago when it wasn't an option.

It will be included with the Basic Pay deposit. It will be divided between the 15th and 1st pay. It can take up to 6 weeks to get the first deposit. You will qualify for Family Separation when he is gone longer than 30 days, so yes you will get that. This is when he is in training, TAD, TDY or deployment. He will also get a 1st uniform allowance to help pay for the cost.

BAS for the Navy is different. He will not get it at Boot Camp, he could get it at A School and C School but most will be deducted when he uses the galley. When he goes to his first command it will depend on if it is Shore Duty or Sea Duty. If it is Sea Duty on a ship (not a squadron) then he will only get about $40 per month left over from the BAS, the rest is taking as he eats in the galley. If he is on Shore Duty then he keeps it.

Yes, it starts the same day he goes on active duty. It might be a couple pay days before it shows up in his check, but it will be retroactive to day 1.

Yes, he gets BAH from the day he enters the military. He will get it at the rate of where you live at right now and it will change to his permanent duty station when he finishes training. He won't receive BAS until he finishes training because BAS is for the service member, not their whole family.

BAH will be included in the first pay check. Pay in basic is very unpredictable though for you to be waiting on it, because he'll have to take money from his first check before it gets deposited for other things

He will receive BAH...it will start when his pay starts......and I wouldn't be so sure about the family sep pay....we are are Army and received it while my husband was at basic and AIT....it kicks in after 30 days.....dependent restricted orders generally qualify for seperation pay i.e. training, deployments and such.....I do believe that is across the board in the military and not just Army

You don't get any pay or allowances until you report to training so if you're asking if he gets it starting now the answer is no, he doesn't. Once he reports to training it will be 6-8 weeks for any type of pay to kick in.

HA NO he's not even in yet so get a job and pay your rent he wont get it until hes in a unit and doing he's job

IF HE IS STILL IN BASIC TRAINING THEN NO HE DOESN'T GET BAH UNTIL HE IS ASSIGNED TO HIS FIRST DUTY STATION... ANSWERED BY AN ARMY WIFE.................................
