Like the Army and Marine Corps do? Or is it a totally different kind of combat scenario?

Yes we do fight on the ground.
There are plenty of Airman who on the ground as we speak, tasked with Marines and the Army. Typically, most Airman do not see combat.
It happens but the normal AF folks aren't going to see it. |

I did...1971 - 1972, Task Force Alpha, Nakhon Phanom RTAFB. Worked with a little "Airline" there...and also worked with SOG.
Many exciting little trips to a scenic highway used by many of the folks that didn't like us very much. Short runways are our specialty. A-1s, C-123s, "Spooky," Jolly Greens, "Spectre," OV-10, "Moonbeam."

Of course they do. There are two sections of the air force that see combat like that and they are:
TAC-P
Combat Control
Those two sections actually deploy with the army and marines. |

Yes they do but it is different. The Air Force has 6 month deployment. Pilots only fly so many missions then are rotated out for a break. |

way diferent.You drive an Air Combat Machine, you wont be shooting your rifle down on the ground, but its still as dangerous. |

There's always a chance that ANY member of the military will see direct combat. But it's not common - the air force is in charge of air strikes and such. |

Yes they do, but not as a soldier would. They do have a problem with target recognition though, which has resulted in a few "accidents". |
