Yes we have thermal imaging. Not sure if we needed it or not.
It is my understanding that two of the pirates had stuck their heads out the top of the lifeboat and the other was visible through the window or door.
For those who have not been following the story. It was an enclosed lifeboat with a hard shell. Not an open boat or raft. |

The captain was actually being held in a lifeboat. They didn't need to see through anything. All they had to do was get snipers close enough without alerting the Somalis. |
