i have not took m 2nd oath yet, am i really in? because i am a high school senior who has jus recieved a 4 yr scholarship and im trying to get out.

If you have taken one oath(for Active Duty) , then you are in DEP. Draft up a letter stating that you no loger wish to be in DEP - keep it short and sweet and send it to your recruiter via certified mail. The sooner the better for both of you. |

You are in the DEP...however, you are not in the navy yet until you take the second oath of enlistment...everyone who takes the first oath is in the DEP until they take the second oath...so if you are trying to get out of the navy dep, then you can if you want, it will not hurt you in any way, unless you want to get back into the navy...just tell the recruiter u changed ur mind, and you are good to go... |
