depends on what you are looking at.
After wars there is a classical economic upsurge. and during it there can be some time of recession. |

The USA was forged from war so I'd say yes. Not to mention war stimulates and economy, and a lot of scientific breakthroughs are made during war time. |

 |
yes. its a way to solve the worlds big problems without harming the innocent. after all, that's the whole point of war; to fight with a military aspect rather than mindless killing. |

Sometimes Yes and some times No; it would depend on why you went to war and whether you won or not. The Great Depression was not ended by FDR's programs but by the Second World War. People were employed making weapons for the combatants and once America got involved employed in the military. So it that case it was good for the nation and losing it would have been extremely bad. |

its not as simple as a yes or no answer. a war done by a competent leader for a worth wile cause will increase the economy and strengthen a countries moral. but there is also the downside of population loss, remorse, and the inevitable economic crash when it ends. in the end the topical result is actually weakening the country. |

War can always make a country stronger. Depending on how they use their resources and were they draw it from will affect their economy.
If their is a way to get money from taking verry little from goverment money and striving off of donations you can make your country verry strong.
If you drain all your money into the military you can always lose it and you can crash your government |

Only if you win and are on the side of the goodies.(so they say)
But after the first world war the (wigs) They said Britain is a land fit for hero's, but instead there was poverty an unemployment .Britain didn't really come out well from the second world war ,rationing went in to the late 50s It is only when we struck oil in the north sea in the 80s that change took place. Then the eu took away our wealth ,and gave it to peasant countries in the EU. On the other hand Norway kept out of the EU and this is a FACT they are the richest country in the world according to gdp. (but they don't have as many people living there as the UK ........So you will have to think about your question and ask yourself again...................................... |

No it doesn't. It taxes the resources of a nation and its causes death and destruction. Is it necessary yes! The ability to wage war protects the sovereignty and people of a nation. It's a dog eat dog world and no ones going to look out for you but yourself.
Preparing for war is a necessary evil, going to war is evil.
"Warfare is the greatest affair of state, the basis of life and death, the Way (Tao) to survival of extinction. It must be thoroughly pondered and analyzed."— Sun Tzu |
