You can definately support the troops and not the war. As a matter of fact, I support the War on Terror (Afghanistan & anywhere else we may go), but I don't support the war in Iraq.
I DO support them & the fact they're fighting, flying under our glorious colors, overseas. Must be a hard thing to do.
And I don't support the President. However, I haven't gone as far as some & no longer recognize him as the President (that's just rediculous). You don't need to support a President during a war, just the troops.
Thanks for the question. |

I'll always support the troops no matter where they are, even if I do or do not agree with why they are there. If people would stop and think for a minute they'd realize that the troops might not agree with what they are doing any more than some of the people back home do, or even the people they are fighting. But they have their orders and must carry those orders out. It's ok if people don't wanna support the cause but at least support the troops because they might not support the cause either but they have no choice! |

Yes, if they didn't the president would be impeached and the troops quickly withdrawn. |

Not even our government supports the troops over there. they failed to provide them with body armor. They failed to provide vehicles with protection from land mines.
If you really support the troops, bring them home. Who's son, father, brother, daughter or mother do you want to be the last one killed?
The president has admitted that we went over there in error.
Check out the Veterans of Foreign Wars (a very Conservative group) they will tell you that the troops who come home wounded have a very hard time getting the medical treatment they are entitled to and deserve. The families of the over 2,500 Americans killed have had a very hard time getting the minuscule aid & support they are guarenteed in the GI Bill of Rights.
They get horrendus red tape from the VA --that is OUR government.
So when you ask who supports the troops, it ain't the president, or anyone in the government. None of those people ever served our country NONE! None of their children are in the military -NONE.
When you talk about heartless, look to Washington. |

I support the troops 100% and I support the war in Afganisthan because we have to find Osama Bin Laden and his group. Though I do not support the war in Iraq, I don't think we can quit or withdraw. We have to see it through. It has nothing to do with anything but a personal agenda of Bush and his administration. I just want our boys and girls fighting over there to come back home safe and sound and not in a body bag. |

there are some of us out here who support the troops. unfortunately i guess it isnt cool or trendy anymore to hang flags like it was after 9/11 or to be proud to be an american. |

I fully support our troops, and our president. i may not always agree with all the decisions that are made in govt., but i'm not up there having to make those decisions. I pass out flags every day, and I have not forgotten when the towers fell. I work hard for a living, and love the U.S.A. not like the liberals who lay around on welfare all day complaining that their check is too small, and it's Bush's fault. don't worry, there's more of us than them, you just hear more whining from them liberal scum. |

I support the troops 100%. I believe they are doing a great job regardless of the hidden agenda of this Administration. GOd bless them and their families for the constant sacrifices they make. They are heros and I thank them. |

I fully support the troops, I just don't support their mission. That's two different things.
If you supported the troops, you'd know that they're not dying and being maimed for Americans. They're dying and being maimed for Iraqis and Halliburton's multi-billion dollar contracts to do nothing (why has power not been restored to pre-war levels? why is oil not being produced at anywhere near pre-war levels?).
I salute the soldiers that are doing their jobs and following orders. It isn't their fault that their leaders are inept.
Ask yourself this, why did the Republican house vote against granting health benefits to Reservists and National Guardsmen, when 40% of them have no benefits - and many of them served in Afghanistan and Iraq?
If you care about the soldiers, you'll write your representative and ask them why they voted that way when it got bi-partisan support in the Senate? |

Most of Americans support the troops and a majority do not want an early exit. The main stream media reports the BS about the situation, They do not report how the "Real America" feels and what good is really going on in the Mid East. I'm sick of hearing the liberals say that they support the troops and not the war..A-Holes. Bless the troops serving and honor those who have made the greatest sacrifice. |

I do, though I wish we would catch Osama Bin Laden, and I wish it would end soon.. It breaks my heart to hear of all the soldiers losing their lives and I feel so bad for their families..
I think our leaders are doing their best to make good decisions based on the information that they have, and it does seem like it's a mess now, which is why we can't just all the sudden up and leave the Iraqi people to fend for themselves against all the terrorists.. that would really be a blood bath, I'm sure. |

Americans are not heartless, anti-Americans are heartless towards our troops and this war. This country is becoming more and more dividing between Republicans and Democrats, you decide who is heartless. It's obvious. |

Well, even if people don't agree with the fact we're fighting, or at least why we're fighting, that's not the soldiers' problem. They are there fighting for their country all the same, and we owe them our support for their loyalty and bravery.
I have total mixed feelings about the war, so I don't know that i could really comment on whether or not we still belong there. |

i also support the troops but not the war. never have and never will. if you really support the troops you will advocate for their return home. |

I support the troops coming home and being safe as opposed to dying for nothing in Iraq just because Bush thinks that god wants him to wage war.

You bet I do and I pray for them every day. You've got to remember that most of the crap you hear on this site is by young people who mostly don't have much scope of the overall picture. |

I support our troops because they have no chose in the matter. They are sent where they are told. I do not support the war and never have. I don't support Bush and never will. You better pray he doesn't start another war some place else before he gets out. |

I fully support the troops along with you! I think to many people get caught up in politics and forget that their are real people over in Iraq that are fighting for a cause! |

I will ALWAYS support our troops! They have no choice but to do as ordered.I dont believe in the war however,I don`t think that we should have ever gone over there! I think that it`s a complete waste of time, money, and innocent lives. But,there`s too much invested NOW to just pack up and go home. This war will end like vietnam, nothing to show for it except a bunch of dead soldiers! |

Yeah I support the troops and the war on terror, wherever it is. But here is the thing. All the media exposes is negative things, and when Americans only see negative things, they become pretty ******* ungrateful for what they have. They don't respect and honor the good things that have happend due to the fact that our troops are out there risking their lives. it pisses me off. |

I agree with you and Kathy O. I support the troops, the war, AND our wonderful President, George Bush. and i would die fighting in the battle anyday for the freedom I enjoy.
It was an OPTION for the troops to join the military, they didnt have to but they did and their in Iraq fighting for us! Are we as a nation so unpatriotic now?????
Well the Americans "that are heartless" are those Liberal freaks. They don't want to do anything and expect the government to do it for them.
The troops, the war, and the president have my support 100% |

Supporting the troops is different from supporting the war. Even though the war has turned unpopular, the troops are not treated badly as the troops of the Vietnam war were. They are not being called baby killers, etc.
Many of the people who protest the war think that the best way to support the troops is to bring them home to safety. |

I agree with you,the problem americans have short memories and the public has a weak heart. Our soldiers signed up and they are a special breed, they are true heros.People who protest in the middle of the day need a life and a job and they need to thank a solider who gave them that right to protest. |

I think war is stupid, crazy and evil.I never support it.Yeah, they fight n loose their life, but is it good? What they got? They have honor, but a happy life is more important n nobler.War also brings sorrow, misery to anyone in concerned... |
