I'm American and i say,why would we want to war with you?Everyone figured out a long time ago there is strength in numbers and that we all need each other.No one has anything to gain from that but failure for everyone.

I agree with the others. No one could win in such a war. Imho, the human species should have evolved beyond all war long ago. There have to be better things we can do with our time on Earth than kill each other.

It would be close. Europe still dose not have the means to deploy heavy firepower over long distances. The American Carriers are a major advantage over Europe. Also all the long range aircraft that can fly from the US to points across the globe and return to the US is another advantage. With the ability to force your will over such a long distance at speed, with staying ability that would be hard for Europe to counter. Europe has the numbers advantage, they can bring more forces into play than the US. I believe that it would be a general stalemate. The US and Europe also know too much about each others equipment, tactics, and personnel.

The US military budget is almost twice that of the EU . The nuclear stockpile is 8 to 10 times as big. I don't know what you mean by "all-out"? In any case it would be the most destructive war so far. I think there is sufficient weapons to kill most of the 500 million citizens of the EU and the 300 million citizens of the US.

Still the US. The US Army is large than UK, France, Germany, and Spain's combined. The US has long range bombers and stealth bombers that could hit anywhere in the EU and return to the US. EU does not have bombers that could attack the US. The US Navy is larger than the whole of the EU's. The US has 15 aircraft carriers that hold 80+ planes each. The EU has only 6 that carry 30 planes. The US Air force has more lift capacity than all of NATO combined.

The US would win.

The EU doesn't have a Blue Water Navy anymore.

Just one real aircraft carrier and two half carriers.

The EU does not have any long range bombers at all.

The EU does not have the ships or logistics capability to invade the US.

So just how would you expect them to win ?

The Militaries in Europe, are only a fraction of what they were 10 years ago, even smaller when compared to 20 years ago.

The military's in Europe, are not trained for war fighting anymore, they are trained for peace keeping.

But you have to take into account that we are getting close to the North American Union ( see Sources below ) so you have to take into account that we will have the canadian military added to those numbers so that's a moose a mounty in a kayak and a couple of flying squirrels

Look I'm American, and I'm not just saying this: We would destroy all of Europe. Nazi Germany did a good job holding off the world by almost themselves in WWII and we are ten times better. We spend a shitload on Military ever sense 9/11. Our ******* Marines could probably take every one. The only threat to us would be the British SAS but that's it. The only thing that would hold us back from total destuction on you guys would be the civilians, if you were to evacuate all of your citizens we would stealth bomb all of your **** and then just bomb your **** some more and then send in our soldiers and marines to take out the rest of you. I'm not trying to be an ***, it's just the truth

First of all, that's a sick situation you're referring to. the US and the European Union are allies - the US furthermore is a part of the UN, thus actually sharing a military power in such.

Second of all, the US would probably kick the Europeans' asses. They wouldn't stand a chance against neither the size, the budget or the technology.

Wow looks like some of you Americans posting on here have some kind of inferiority complex, all this boasting about the American military and Euro bashing, just cos someone had the nerve to ask who would win in a war between the two. War isn't a good thing, and you boasting about how you could KILL human beings better than someone else is just pathetic. @I love the good ol' U.S.A.!! Is this how angry you get just because someone questions you're country's military? You have to start throwing around slurs and insults against someone's nationality? You're life must be quite devoid of personal achievement if you feel the need to boast about the achievements of your country like that. Oh and just one thing I'd like to point out about what you said; don't you think the EU would have taken out that missile defence system in Poland before they fired their nukes? Seeing as Poland IS IN the EU after all. The EU is also richer than the US btw, it's just that we're not warmongerers who spend all our money on our military ;)

EU has more tanks more aircraft and navel ships USA just has more aircraft carriers and combat helicopter plus plus if u sailed to Europe u would be destroyed by are airforce and the same if we tried to invade USA u need to own the airspace to invade any country so there would be a stail mate no one winning !!
