End the trouble in Somalia in 3 steps.?
Find answers to your legal question.

End the trouble in Somalia in 3 steps.?

1. Get a task force made up of Delta, TF160, and SAS to go to somalia.
2. Assault the ship without permission from every country in the UN.
3. Give every pirate (only four of them!) two .45 ACP rounds in the forehead. Drive the boat back to the coast of Mogadishu. Let the other pirates see what happens when you mess with the US.

PROBLEM SOLVED

To o really you extract the hostage with a Zodiac or other small waterborne craft. What part of the navy were you in? Sanitation? Desk jockey? REMF? Any navy officer or recruit worth his salt would want to take a stand against these pirates.

you watch to many hollywood films, why not let superman deal with the situation, or rambo.

O'Really
unrealistic to say the least...how do you plan to get the hostage out alive ?

EDIT...yeah, that's the ticket...just sneak up in open water

My idea is to have SEALS swim under the boat, gas everybody quietly, take the American, poke a BIG hole in the boat.

I can't believe we haven't done it already!

More steps than that I'm afraid.

1) Put seal teams in the water near the lifeboat using cover of darkness. Arm them with .22 cal. silenced weapons, aside from their normal auto weapons. (The pirates have to be sleeping in shifts. They can't all be awake at the same time.)

2) I understand that the pirates are receiving food and water from our people. Keep giving it to them, but include a prolonged time released sedative in it. (One that won't be released until several hours after it is consumed.) In case all of the pirates don't eat at once.

3) Use Morse Code light flashing communication ship to ship. (Yes they are still in use today as a form of radio silence communication, and the captured U.S. captain can read them.) Mix a message to the captured captain making him aware of the coming assault.

4) At the given moment create a diversion, the captain hits the water at the precise moment, and the seal team opens up.

5) Follow up with an aerial assault on the Somali Ports and anyone on land driving or in possession of a vehicle newer than 10 years old. Collateral damage will exist. But will send a "Don't screw with us." message to the pirates.

6) In the future use "auxiliary" cruisers disguised as cargo ships and or oil tankers to patrol hot-spot areas, draw the pirates in range, then send them to the bottom without apologies.

Yes, you're a real man! Real men know how to deal with these situations.
Obama will want to have 'tea' with them and make friends.
Hilary Clinton laughs at this horrible situation, and, she'd laugh if anyone of us we're there, too.
See this and weep-Hilary thinks its funny.

You do watch to many movies. First things first, Delat and SAS are well trained, but you would have somebody storm a boat, the Navy has people on that warship to handle that. Plus, America is starting to be liked again since Obama came into office, we don't need to be hated some more since that would be breaking international law since that is not our waters. And anyway, it's one man and the pirates have no were to go. There either going to kill him or let him go, that's it.
