Yes it would, but don't run and get married just for the benefits, or even just because you are pregnant. Stop and think of what marriage really means. There are other ways to have your pregnancy paid for (public aid, if it came down to that). Too many people rush into marriage because of a pregnancy and it's the kids who pay in the end when it doesn't work out.

wow i thought we just went through this.. if you are knocked up you will have to get married and then he will have to enroll you in tricare and that can take anywhere from days to months to go through then after that you will be covered. you went in the wrong order by the way you were supposed to get married then pregnant. let me tell you this much dont just get married so you can get benefits cause youll end up divorced soon enough and thats a lot more expensive than getting married

yes , get married go tothe soldiers center with your wifeso they can give you the id card , then go to tricare soyour wife can enroll you,,,,,,

If you get married tomorrow, then yes, the maternity cost would be covered because you would be considered a dependent once the paperwork goes through. The voice of experience: do not get married right away because of the baby, if you are not sure that getting married is what you want. If you were already engaged before you found out, then go for it. Congrats!

david s is wrong.....tricare does not do the preexisting conditions crap that other insurances did...when my husband and i got married i was 5 months pregnant and it was covered 100%

yes, once you are married you fill out the necessary forms and you are fully covered for all medical expenses.

Once you get married he would have to enroll you in (DEERS).

Check with the state you live in to see the laws for getting married and how long it will take.

Once he turns in the paperwork and gets you in (DEERS), you can get Tricare. You and future child will be covered.

Takes about a month from Marriage to enroll in tricare and deers for your medical to start. I hate to suggest this but if you currently do not have medical care and need to start seeing a doctor go see your local medicaid office until your marriage is final and everything is set with Tricare and DEERS.

Yes. As soon as you are married you can enroll into DEERS and start your life as a dependent (does not mean you are dependent, just what you'll be called, you'll be on dependent status.) Once in DEERS and Tricare you can make a doctor's appointment. When I had my kids it was $12.50 to have a baby (total cost after the birth, not sure why there's a cost, but there was when I was the active duty person and the dependent spouse.) Still though, a lot better than the thousands it costs (for just the birth) in civilain hospitals.

No,the maternity cost would not be coverd if you
are pregnant within 4 months after you are married.
it is a sort of insurance scam that the nurses do.

If you are going to have a baby within the 4 month period
do not try and get all that much help, or it will cost.

if you are going to have it,say 2 weeks after the time limit
you will be fine and you are covered.
