Yes.. don't even mention it! |

What they do not need to know won't hurt them or you. I would keep my mouth shut. |

Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!... you should deny it.. They will never find out, that was 3 year ago, that has way, left your system.. If you tell him, you will regret it, trust me.. Especially if you are going for corpman, they won't give it to you because they will consider you a risk, and won't let you near any drugs.. "Trust me again, I know..".. |

if they can't find it on paper some where you never did it! |

if you haven't smoked weed in the last 30 days don't worry about it. |

Yepp, lie. It has no bearing on what you are doing now and if you report it, it could interfer with any top secret clearances that you may need. Good Luck. |

no, do not tell your recruiter about this. stick to your story that you never did it. there is no way they could find out about it. |

Yes definitely deny it! But remember, if you deny it once to your recruiter, you need to deny it every time they ask during bootcamp too! All that crap about getting a dishonorable discharge is hogwash. I'm willing to bet an overwhelming majority of the recruits entering bootcamp has tried pot at least once. The recruiter doesnt want to hear about you experimenting with pot as a youth, it only makes their job more difficult. |

Let me say this..In USMC boot camp during the first few hours they interview each individual recruit about his/her past drug use..This is where all the "liars" come clean..They think they can get away by lieing and once they are grilled they come clean and they look like idiots..They always come clean because they put pressure on you and they say they have evidence of you doing drugs..So unless your a good strong person and will not crack under pressure I recommend you admit all..Why start your military career with a lie.. |

yup.... the military's policy is "don't ask, don't tell" deny it to the fullest |

Admit to the stop sign things
As far as the drug, LIE, LIE and DENY!
No one will ever find out.
If someone just happened to tell on you from your past, it is still just your word against thiers.
NO chance at all that it will be found out.
I used to smoke weed all the time
I lied about it...smoked while I was on leave
denied the whole thing and would until this day
You would be an idiot to confess! |

Absolutely deny it. My husband admitted to stealing something VERY SMALL when he was 14 and because of that the military wouldn't take him. And they said it was because he ran a stop sign. |

Since 3 years have passed, and you have permanently changed your lifestyle..there is no reason to mention this. |

Don't deny it to the recruiter. Do not lie in MEPS because if they found that out, you will be kick out. Try Waiver. |

My ex-husband was a cocaine user (heavy) Cleaned himself up, and joined the marine corp. Only problem is he entered a christian based men's home for drug addicts, a year ago and is stated in my childsupport court paperwork. I'm sending those papers to his chain of command. Well see soon what happens to him. |

tell him the whole story they should still accept you. My friend was a heavy user and still got in. And if they dont ask dont tell them |

Tell them you didn't inhale. Heck... you could even be President someday. |

You have no problem, but don't lie to the recruiter if he asks, say yes. Don't take any chances cause you may get sh*tcanned. Good luck. |

I would think honesty is the best policy. Since it was so long ago and it was weed and not like the hard stuff. (Which if you had done hard stuff would probably be still on it and not considering the military.) My husband and I were in the military but don't have any related experience to that but like I said, honesty will probably be the best thing to do. Just don't joke around about it, be serious so he knows that you stopped and never started and don't intend to start. |

Don't lie! Don't start your military career off on a lie! If they ask you if you have ever experimented with illegal drugs just answer honestly! |
|

MikeGolf
|
No.
Do not deny it. Minor use of marijuana prior to age 18 is not considered to be that big a deal by the military - As Long As The Use Ended Prior to Age 18 and you Never used drugs again.
The primary reason you want to admit this is in case you are ever considered for a security clearance in the future. Depending on the level of access they will go through your life with a microscope and eyebrows will be raised if they find evidence that contradicts what you said. |

IMHO

No. As long as you'll pass now, the past doesn't matter. They are desperately trying to make numbers, so they will enlist you still. |
|

Jade Poe
 |
no. because if they found out later, they have grounds to dishonorably discharge you from the military. and that's no good. it's called perjury, and that is a big fat NO NO. save your self the hurt and just fess. they will appreciate you more knowing that you were at least honest about it. and it doesn't necissarily mean that you won't get in. |

Tell the truth. Say you experimented with pot, but stopped using it. |

That depends, did you inhale? |
