There should be a female regiment in all the services
it could be the BRA they would be mainly a support regiment
Joking apart, females should not be in the front line, |

nothing much, same as men, however, what annoyed me was when those people were taken hostage by Iran earlier in the year, the focus was soley on the female hostage, as if the others didnt exist and didnt have families that missed them and children that needed a parent. That is not equality. |

I am a female in the AF and have personally never met with any type of discrimination. I am in the medical field though which is different than other fields in the military as there are about the same ratio of men to women. It also depends on your personality and what kind of humor you can handle. If you do get a job in a field dominated by men, well, they're MEN and they act like it. I've never met any military men who were against female military members. |

I personally think that it would be easier in the military without females. Yes they are just as capable as men are, but a few rotten ones spoil the rest. Women have the power to use there femininity, to change the rules in there favor. Also the media veiws women as better then men, cause they say "Its so hard to be a female in the service." This is totally not true. They have it no harder then the men, and 90% they have it easier. I know it doesnt look pretty but its the truth. |

I served with good women and bad women!
One of the best officers I ever served under was a former school teacher! She was a damn good officer.
I've also served with some that acted like men untill it was time to do some heavy lifting then they where no were to be found.
Then my personal favorites are the ones that are standing dress inspection and decide on their own accord to fall out due to female reasons.
Hey I didn't like it either but I still stood inspection! |

yes they should be allowed to join just not be a part of direct combat. it has been proven it lowers unit cohesion and that is why it is not allowed. |

Females in the Army, Navy and Air Force think of what? |

I am proud to be a female soldier serving over here in Iraq with my other brothers and sisters to fight so we can all come home one day for good. The military is fair at times treating us equally but other times we females have to be tough to show the men we are just as good as they are. I do no pay attention to any negativity that some people might have about us being here because we are in harms way over here just as much as men are all the time. We just ask that you guys continually pray for us so we can get the missions accomplished and come home. GOD BLESS AMERICA |

I am a firm believer of women in the military...not so hot on combat duty, but women in the Marine Corps are the SHIZZLE!!
Don't know what I would have done without them!
Women were not permitted to be deployed to Vietnam, but they sure held highly responsible jobs in non-combat venues and were a major part of my tenure in the Corps.
From nursing and administrative duties to logistics and transportation, we couldn't have gotten along without them!
I am a firm believer in having women in our military...God bless them all!!

I was in the Navy before they allowed them on ships. It was much better before they allowed them to go to sea. |

chauvenism is sky high in the Army, Navy and Air Force |

What about the Marines and Coast Guard?
Females, as long as they proform up to the standards set by their branch and follow expectations, certainly should be entitled to be in the military. However, some females aren't psycologically capable of the military lifestyle. They should think hard about that before they enlist.
Also, females can become pregnant and land themselves in some tough spots.
Overall, I think OF COURSE women should be able to serve, and the military should be proud to have them. |

In the Army, pretty much useless. Navy and Air Force, they can make some significant contributions if they don't get pregnant to skip out of deployment. |

Yes, I think we are ALL equal and women should be able to join in whatever job they want but combat jobs. I was in the Army and I'm not saying I don't think women can do such jobs as infantry. But, it is proven that men are stronger muscle wise. That is very important on the front lines. |

Females ... if they must I suppose ... but not mothers. Whatever they think about freedom of choice etc.etc., if they chose to breed then they should stay at home and look after them. |

As a former female soldier in the Army in a male predominant job I'd say yes its fine. I had a bit of flak being the only woman, but also gave it back, never ever ever used female reasons to get out of anything, pulled my weight etc. As soon as i was ready to become a mother, i left, i didn't want my kids becoming a excuse for me not being able to do my job IE 4wk exercises, so i left. Bestest time of my life, don't regret one day of it now emigrated to a hot country, have 2 kids & can look back at some very fond memories! |

It's fine by me, I'm in the RAF and have many female colleagues, but they're no different from male colleagues. They are equal in my eyes.
I even had a female Sergeant (above me) a few years ago (quite rare in the engineering roles), and I was fine with that. We got on quite well.
Why are you asking? do you have a problem with them? They can operate a rifle as well as (sometimes better than) any man and I would be totally fine going into combat with a woman in my team. |
