Females who recently went through AF BMT?

Hey I just got the list on what to bring. My recruiter said that most of the stuff I will have to buy over again anyway. I just have a few questions about what I bring that I can use. Sport bras? Am I going to have to rebuy them anyway? Same with underwear? Should I pre-buy the spandex shorts on the list or wait because I have to replace them? Hair bands? Bring or buy there? Watch Bring or Buy? Any tips would be welcome.

Go ahead and bring your own sport bras and underwear. Make sure they are black, white or nude in color. You can buy them when you get there, but they have such a small selection. Getting them before, you can assure they they fit right. You don't have time to see if they fit at basic. I waited to get the spandex there, and buy 2 pair, maybe 3. They can get lost in laundry. Hair bands- bring some with you and then possibly buy more if you think you need them. Matching to your hair color of course. In my flight, only the student leaders (element leaders and dorm chief) were allowed watches. So I would wait to see if your TI will allow you to have them.

Good luck. It isn't that bad. My advice to anyone going in is the same...shut up and listen. :) It makes it easier. You will get yelled at for everything. Just just know that. And you will mess up, you will do things wrong. You are suppose to. That way they can get on your case. The little things matter. It is all about paying attention to detail.

Bring your own bras and underwear because they will not issue them to you; Im not sure if the Base exchange will have female underclothes there so to be safe bring everything on your list.
For the comment below if you have any common sense you would know I meant base exchange but I chose to correct that so it didnt apply too much pressure to your heart.

Bring sports bras, underwear a couple pairs of pants and ca couple shirts because you may not get your initial uniform issue for a few days, bring something to sleep in for the first couple of nights. Bring paper pens stamps and shampoo deodorant conditioner and your own towel for the first night. they will put you in the showers as soon as you get to your dorm room. and whatever you need to make your hair slick back in a bun. don't buy spandex, I don't remember if ours were issued or if our Ti made us buy them at the shoppette but you can get them there. you can bring a plain black watch or buy one at your first trip to the shoppette.

Buy some old fashioned underwear like the bloomers your granny wears!
get your head shaved when you get to Basic Training.

YOU can buy a Timex watch , military style, black face with green or black cloth wrist band!
not too expensive.
