Fighter Pilot or Navy SEAL?
Find answers to your legal question.

Fighter Pilot or Navy SEAL?

Ok, I've had my sights on SEAL and prepared in every angle since age 9 so you know me a little.... But Im very curious on which is the best job in the world, I mean as a fighter pilot you get more benefits (can be a Major and still fly, be in reserves as pilot, be based in one place longer, no civilian looks at you and thinks you're all muscle and no brains, etc.) Also, if you're a pilot in the MARINE CORPS, you'll be almost as hard core as a spec ops, cuz you know, it's the Marines...

But my SEALs are insane! I mean passing BUD/S is one of the greatest, toughest, acheivments of all time. You're obviously a bad*** cuz being a SEAL is the closest thing to James Bond, think about it: both SEALs and 007 do high risk insertions and extractions, have advanced driving skills and of course excellent with weapons, etc. etc.

So point is; if you want more benefits, like getting paid a lot more to be cozy inside a rollercoster going over 1,400 mph for very long career, be a fighter pilot [which is not at all soft] OR be a SEAL and run/swim miles at a time to have something totally new at every corner, with more adrenaline...

Just want to see wat you'd choose...

Thanks 4 the answeres but:

1. Just comparing 007 to SEAL in the sense of how hard core SEALs are

2. I dont care about money, that's not my mentality, I was just stating that to give a broad range of differences so you can make an easy choice.

3. I'm majoring in foreign affairs, weapons & systems engineering, taking Arabic and will be in the Marines at the US Naval Academy... so when I get my basic Marine and infantry training I'm going to get a DD4187 to transfer to the Navy, all for the SEALs... this whole process, after graduating USNA, will take about 2.5+ to get the Trident

Which job will teach you marketable skills you can learn so that when you become a civillian again, you will have no problem finding a job.

I have been in the Air force for 6 years. Just so you know, simply having a desire and preparing all your life to be a SEAL or pilot, does not mean you will be selected. The tests are rigorous and you could be disqualified for something beyond your control. I don't want to discourage you from chasing your dreams, but don't be disappointed if they don't work out as planned. Do you know that before you can be a pilot in the Air Force you must have a Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Engineering, etc. before you can even step foot in a jet? Both are great but I would much rather be a fighter pilot seeing as how you won't be young forever and when you are old you can be a commercial airline pilot with your Air Force training and make tons of money.

Good luck

My SEALs? Wtf, and you are comparing SEALs to James Bond i think your getting confused with what SEALs on almost every occasion actually does. They are a very elite SOF but in no way what so ever would they be related to a fictional character

Personally, I would go Seals.

there are endless opportunities in the Seals like

Halo insertions, diving, being on SWCC boats, working to defend our nation, doing high value missions, etc.

Being a Pilot is great too. fun, exciting, and great pay in the civ world.
Its just, I would rather be a more in the dirt and mud, physical guy, then a Fast thinking , fit pilot.

Based on my actual 22 years of service in the Navy, I'd rather be a Officer, or Chief of the Boat, on a submarine.

Waiting for September
Go in as an enlisted SEAL, then get your degree and a commission and become a naval pilot!

The Greatest!
I can tell that you're more interested in benefits than serving. Being a SEAL isn't for you. Elite Soldiers like Navy SEALS, Army Rangers and Special Forces Army are about service. You should be a pilot.

Pilot of course. It leaves a long career and with a good return and lots of opportunities. SEAL is for young strong men. You're done on your forties if you last that long and there isn't a lot of opportunities after.

pilots get more girls..its the cool factor and you can talk about your job.

pilot and seal are both difficult to milestones to achieve... not many people every get to either level.

good luck to ya
