What are the differences between the F-22 and the F-35 fighter aircraft? Which one is better overall?

That's a bit like asking which is better a coat or socks. They're both clothing, but designed to do different things. Same goes for the planes. the F-22 is built as an air supremacy fighter. Compared to the F-35 it has longer range, higher speeds, and carries different weapons. The F-35 is desgined more as a second line fighter when it comes to air-to-air engangements, with a primary role of an attack aircraft. Bombing targets, ground support, etc. It is less stealthy, slower, and has less range. The two planes are designed to work as a team. While the F-22 clears the skies of enemy planes, the F-35 attackes ground targets. |

It depends on what you're looking to do. Against other jets, the F-22 is pretty much the best thing around. The F-35 is much more flexible - there are variants for conventional use, for aircraft carriers, for short take offs etc. |

Not better, different. F-22 is a twin-engined air superiority fighter. F-35 is a single-engined fighter/attack aircraft. |
