First off, a war is NOT when both sides decide to fight. Thats a boxing match.

Second, they killed Americans before.

Third, Hussein and his sons killed millions of Iraqis. One of his sons, the one that ran the Iraqi soccer team, used to torture and kill soccer players if he thought they played badly.

This is not a war on Iraq, its a war on terrorism. Through faulty intel, the US thought Iraq was helping the Taliban. They may have been, I dont know.

I think you need to study history some as well, not just try to make your opinion a fact, child.

Sadam Hussein was a horrific citizen of the planet. The whole reason for the war was to remove him from power. He waged a decade-long war against Iran, gassed/killed thousands of his own people, invaded neighboring Kuwait, looted that country, murdered Kuwait citizens, lobbed scud missiles into non-participant Israel during the first Gulf war, and torched oil rigs into the terrible ecological disaster during his retreat back to Bagdad. I can not imagine *why* the UN permitted him to stay in office after the first Gulf war.

The Iraqui citizens had no way to remove him from power... the elections there were an absolute joke and any opposition to him met the ultimate penalty.

I am not a fan of what is happening in Iraq today, but removing Sadam Hussein was the right thing to do. I'm certain that the US troops would leave if the citizens of Iraq stopped blowing each other up and quit attacking US troops. But perhaps it is easier for Islamic militants to wage war on the US by using those tactics to keep US troops within easy range?

The insurgents are killing the Iraqi people at an alarming rate. Not our soldiers. Insurgents are killing people without any discrimination to men, women or children. The Iraqi people are paralyzed by these fear of the insurgents, this is preventing them from stepping up and taking care of their own country. So we are there to police them at this point. Our soldiers want the Iraqi people to step up and take control of their country but in the meantime since this has not happened we are stuck otherwise the insurgents will come in and kill more than we can even imagine, it would be worse than the taliban in Afghanastan ever was. Iran and Syria want to control Iraq.

We initially went to free the people of Iraq from Sadam and ensure he paid for his war crimes. At the time we believed he had weapons of mass destruction. If he had allowed full UN inspections and fed the people of Iraq instead of padding his own bank accounts with the oil for food program we would NEVER have invaded. I strongly suggest you research your 'facts' before you post them.

We will never know the exact number Sadam killed because he his many of his deaths, speak to the Iraqi people who will tell you of relatives who disapeared or were killed and tortured. Or the children, women and men who suffered when he used chemical weapons on his own people. Or those that were killed in the Iraq/Iran war.

Have you forgotten all the people he killed when he invaded Kuwait??? The horrific devestation and aboration he did to the Kuwaiti people??? Including going as far as to take babies out of incubators in the hospital? Raping and killing, his tortures and killing spree during the invasion is something the Kuwaiti people will never forget. Have you spoken to any of them about what they endured? Have you counted how many voices were silenced by his hands?

Please do your research, take a history lesson. Not to mention that if we had not deployed to Saudi at lightning speed he planned on invading Saudi after Kuwait??? What about the people who died after that from the effects of breathing all that the toxic air from the oil fields? Then he continued to conduct barbaric acts on his own people to keep them from revolting. Just ask the Iraqi immigrant community in Michigan that celebrated in the streets that Sadam was gone.

I highly doubt you have been to Iraq and spoken to the people. Until you do please refrain from posting your propaganda that really isn't a question at all it's a rant about your opinion along with slander about our soldiers.

In addition I would like to add that yes Sadam killed Americans prior to invading Iraq. He killed Americans when we were freeing the kuwaiti people during the first gulf war, he killed many other soldiers from that war including British and Australian. Perhaps you should speak with their widows, children, parents before you post about who killed whom. The Kuwaiti people continue to be thankful that we came to their rescue and we were supported by other muslim countries such as Turkey, Jordan, Saudi, Eygypt, etc.

It is all about the oil and the resources. That bunch of thugs in Washington cooked up a bunch of lies and presented them as facts as our "reason" for invading Iraq. Those who went along with it should be impeached, right along with Bush, Cheney, Rummy and the rest. The "thinking" population of America never believed it; the thinking population keeps up with what's going on in the world, they read, discuss, listen. Unfortunately, those who "govern" us are too busy being self-important to pay much attention. The Republicans in Washington have all consumed the "kool-aid" and the Dems that gave Bush the OK to invade should hang their heads in shame.

I am a woman of a certain age, a patriotic American, an ex-Marine and I come from a family that has served in the military on both sides since the Revolutionary War. Never in my life have I seen such apathy from the American public as I have seen with regard to this awful invasion. Never have I seen so many of my countrymen and women so involved with themselves. Never have I seen such division, such passionless ignorance.

I fear that Mr. Bush and his henchman have forever changed my country. They have divided us and I don't know if we will ever be able to come together again. In my opinion, Mr. Bush and the rest are nothing but criminals and should be tried for crimes against humanity.

Iraq not only attacked the U.S. on 9/11 but they attacked the U.K. just after. We are not trying to kill all of them off, we are simply trying to eliminate the bad ones, the Islamic radicals because if we dont, we will have another 9/11 or worse on our hands!
And compared to all the people who died in World War 2, nobody has died in this war. there were like 25, 00 people killed in 3 days in World War 2, the whole time we have been in Iraq there has only been wat? like 3,00 deaths. THINK ABOUT IT!

im tired of hearing how we shouldnt be over there...when we first started dealing with Iraq, they were a 3rd world country that still made war on camels, and most the population was still nomadic tribes.

The United States showed them they were sitting on a gold mine, we showed them how to harvest the oil, process it, and sell it. we also built hospitals for them, and set up schools for thier uneducated childeren.

And after bringing them into the modern world we are repayed by inflated oil prices, attacks on our civilians, and bombing our government buildings.

I think we should nuke Iraq, fill the crater with water, put up some hotels and call it a resort

If Bush can brutally murder 689 thousand Iraqis in 4 years, it'll take him just less than another 4 years to catch up to the amount of people Saddam Hussein rightfully killed in close to 30 years of his Dictatorship.

This war is caused by the same things all wars are caused by: Money and resources. Could be:

- Oil
- Military weapons industries
- Politicians with sketchy ties to industries, like military contractors
- A jumpstart on the economy for bankers losing money on low interest loans
- Or a combination

I sure would like to know who's working behind the scenes.
