Getting a job after honorable discharge?

Getting a job after honorable discharge?

How can I go about getting a job after an honorable discharge? I finished basic training and AIT, but got a medical discharge after graduation. I have not worked for almost 2 years (going on 3!! I'm a SAHM for now) but would like to get out and do something after being home with the kids! Pointers please!! Thanks! I've thought about reenlisting, but I would like to stay where I am (in the civi world, although it depresses me to see my husband go to work every morning). What kind of jobs can I get? I was a topographer, but would prefer something not in that field! Thanks!!

You apply just like everyone else, Send out well written resumes, and wait for a call.
As far as jobs, you know what your qualifications are, we can't say.

You know your qualifications, send out your resume, we can't choose your career for you, you'll most likely be miserable in it. You know what you love to do, and you know what your capabilities are.

Good luck in this economy!!!

go to sites like monsterjobs and fill out a resume. military training alone will get you a job. sites like that will offer thousands of jobs for you to choose from.

I joined US Navy at 16 and entered active duty 2 days after turning 17. I didn`t get a GED during active duty because it wasn`t offered. I was highly recommended for re-enlistment,but chose civilian life. I served in active reserves also. I served from 1974 to 1978 (active duty),and 1981 to 1983 (active reserves). I have 2 honorable discharges. I also have a 33 year work history. I was layed off in 2009 after 16 yrs. of steady employment. why will nobody hire a veteran.
