I got my security clerance denied due to not participating in the investigation and telling them that I couldn't handle the responsibility of classified documents. Anyways, would I have the option to be chaptered out? My platoon sergeant said that he was talking to the company commander about t-spacing or chaptering me out. What do you think my chances of getting chaptered out are?

This is the military you're talking about. There is no telling how this will come down. It depends in large part on how your Commander wants to proceed. |

In the Navy, no, you would not. You'd simply be assigned to the worst possible work and toil there until the end of your enlistment.
I actually saw it happen to a Chief Petty Officer. His wife was from Panama and he refused to get the clearance (Top Secret SCI) because he was worried about the US poking around down in Panama and attracting attention on his in-laws.
He did an E-5's job for the final 2 years, on a rotating watchbill, until he could retire. They humiliated him. |
