i don't knwo if i am on the block but completely randomly almost 20 people got discharged from my unit. no warning, no one knew anything about this, it just happened.
i found that i'm literally next to go, so if i where to get out of the navy what benefits would i be entitled to?
i have 11 months of active duty service, I am really just concerned with the GI bill, everythign else is trivial. I have 60 college credits and i intend to just go back to one of the services as an officer. I really loved my short time in the navy but the navy doesn't need me so i'd like to go coast guard i am thinking.
anyway, any information would be awesome. tomorrow the jag is coming to talk to my unit so hopefully we get some things straightened out but outside the navy i am homeless, no family and my only friends are here in the navy.

Definitely go to your PSD asap to find out. You will be entiltled to all of your benefits with a honorable, however; you still have a month to pay on your GI Bill that goes to the obligated $1200 to receive it in the first place. Find out if you can pay it up front and if you have the money, invest it in the Gi Bill Top Up Program.
You may contribute up to an additional $600 to the GI Bill to receive increased monthly benefits. For an additional $600 contribution, you may receive up to $5400 in additional GI Bill benefits. The additional contribution must be made while on active duty. |

If you are discharged because of reduction in force then you will be able to keep your benefits. However if its because of any type of UCMJ or any unfavorable reason then your benefits will cease.
