Goin to Fort Jackson?

I'm leaving for Fort Jackson on August 4th 2009. I wanna know what to expect and different things i can do to start to get in shape i wanna drop like 30-40 lbs b4 i go

I went to Ft. Jackson for basic about 6 years ago. It was pretty much a joke. The only hard thing was carrying around like 50 lbs worth of gear everywhere I went. Just do what you can with your weight, work on push-ups, sit-ups and running. When you go to the dining facility for meals, make good choices...they cook with a lot of grease.

Your goal of losing that much weight is going to be very hard. Healthy weight loss is about 2lbs per weeks.

Expect a few days at reception where you will do even more paperwork and get some of your initial issue. You will get some more medical screenings and shots as well.

Get ready to drink lots of water it will be very hot and humid.

Remember eyes open and mouth shut.
