Would it happen to have anything to do with the fact that the media shows only negative things happeneing in Iraq? What have they shown, that has been accomplished, that shows something positive or sheds a better light on what our fighting men and women are doing? Maybe, it also has to do with the fact that the anti- people scream the loudest!

No it has made the American public look weak. They gave Bush the mandate to do what he will in Iraq when they re-elected him.
Now the war the public wanted and got is not fun any more so they wanna pick up their toys and go home. Too late!
Don't blame the US armed forces for America's failure blame the American people!

Except if you fly some planes into some of our buildings then we will all be pissed, for about two weeks. Then it is life as usual.

I'm not sure it makes them look week, however it makes them look very silly. However I think it makes Britain look even more stupid for being bush's hand pupet. Weak, no. Dangerous, yes. I would say the US (and allies) are the most hated nations on earth now. Even people who trusted and respected the US despise them. Now they are in two unwinnable wars, and it will take decades to undo the damage to their reputation.

There is a certain pathetic weakness inherant in a bully who needs to show off physical strength and act threatening.
If you don't agree with the bully analogy then imagine poor little underdeveloped Iraq being picked on with weapons that can be fired from twenty miles away or from the air by jets that move too fast to see properly.
The US and the UK have become burly kids firing air rifle pellets into some weedy kid in a wheelchair who can't even run away.

Iraq, possibly. Didn't think it through. The uprising was completely predictable given its fractured history. It was The Balkans part II when Yugoslavia fell apart and the constituent parts fought each other. Afghanistan a different war. Taliban not popular, but fearsome. We have never, ever won in that country. Look back at days of the Raj!

We may be in a quagmire in Iraq and Afghanistan, but we are winning the war militarily as we are killing the enemy in droves. However, we are losing the war publicly and politically, thanks to the left.

Weak? It should be a matter of how strong the US really is. A group of Special Operations took over Afghanistan before people knew what was going on. Then Iraq was completely overwhelmed in a matter of days...hell, there was hardly any opposition and the enemy had to resort to hiding or surrenderring. Yes, the coalition forces took casualities, but that's nowhere near the numbers of previous wars and the War on Terror has been continuing for sometime.

Sadly after 9/11 Bush had to kick as* to win votes and undermined the UN to unleash the awesome fire power on 'the enemy'. The high level bombing and smart bombs were effective but on the ground its a different story and Powell saw that and got out. Its a bloody mess and what is Britain hoping to achieve in Afghanistan with a handful of troops when the Russians couldn't get a foothold with their superior numbers. I don't know if it makes anyone look weak but it sure shows the stupid and wasteful loss of life created by USA foreign policy.

The u.s is weak and they are also bully's who want to control everything , good luck to to Iraq and Afghanistan in the fight for their freedom , and may America topple like the twin towers for they are world enemy no:1 .
