They claim to not harm or kill as a matter of policy. Are they really nonviolent?
Essentially, I want some proof that they have killed at least one hostage.

They have killed hostages. Here's a list from Wikipedia that clearly shows some hostages have been killed.

The Taiwanese fishing vessel was hijacked on May 28, 2007. The surviving crew of 10 Chinese, two Taiwanese and two Filipino crew members was released on November 5 after spending more than six months in captivity. One Chinese crew member was killed by the pirates on May 28 because the ship's owners failed to meet their ransom demands. |

Their hijackings/kidnappings have been for money, and up until now, the shipping companies have paid the ransom without resistance.
A few years ago, there were three deaths--two Somali coast guard members and one crew member. It is not clear who caused their deaths (since they were killed during military operations).
Also, in a recent French action, a hostage was killed (along with two Somalis). The French are saying the Somalis did it, the Somalis are saying he was killed by the French gunfire. |

They haven't killed any hostages but are not non-violent. They tried to sink a US cargo ship with rocket propelled grenades and automatic rifles earlier this week |

No, but they did promise to kill all American and French hostages now.
They attacked an American ship with grenades and automatic weapons a few days ago trying to carry out that threat but they were repelled. |

no they didn't kill a single one my dad wacths the news all the time and he said none of them died and my uncle was one of the hostages who got a away. he said they threaten him many times they but never did anythingy. my uncle says they are all talk and no action. |
