Help with questions about the Army Reserve?

I will be done with my first semester of college this May I was thinking about not going back to school and join the Army. But I want to finish school and become a Ultrasound Technician. My friends told me I could join the Army Reserve and still stay home and finish school, is this true? I do not know much about this, so thanks for the help. Also what is the difference in benefits and pay from active and reserve?

Active gets wayyy more benefits. Pay is a little different also.
If you go active, you can use the GI Bill for school, like $70,000. and if you have college education, you can probably get a pretty decent enlistment bonus.
plus you can go to school while in active duty, most people don't realize this.
go talk to a recruiter. I know some people make them out to be mean, don't get me wrong, some can be, but most are very helpful.

Yes that is true. But, you will have to go through basic training first(which is 9 weeks long, and is not easy). Then you will have to go to a technical training school before you can come home and be on a reserve status. Then, you will have to work one weekend a month and two weeks a year. Between that time, you can go to school for free. If I were you, I would finish school, and then go into the army. If you do that, you will be an officer. Which is much better |

It's true to a point. You can stay in school if you don't get deployed (which isn't too promissing). You'll have to leave college when you get your orders and try to finish up when you return. |
