the question should be why doesn't the men and women in our military make as much money as the hired gun's |

Job outsourcing is usually characterized as having jobs taken away to a company/organization/country that will do it cheaper....the creation and mission of Blackwater doesn't take away similar jobs for military men and women because their missions are very different. And it definitely isn't cheaper to pay for its services. In fact, I bet you could go down to a recruiting station today, and there would still be a job for you!
"Outsourcing involves the transfer of the management and/or day-to-day execution of an entire business function to an external service provider."
"Contracting with organizations outside your country for work that could otherwise be done by employees within your company."
"A practice used by different companies to reduce costs by transferring portions of work to outside suppliers rather than completing it internally." |

I know that those of my family who serve in the marines and are in Iraq right now are glad that they have allies who do the simple **** so they can get the real job done. |

How many people answering this question are actually military personnel?
If you are not in the military, please do not answer for us. We can speak for ourselves.
BTW. "Colonel Ray"- Where in the Constitution does it state that private security companies can not be hired? In fact, the word mercenary is not even in the Constitution. Try actually reading the document some time. |

Hmmmmmmmmm,
Just how does the State Department hiring civilan security contractors to augument the State Departments own Diplomatic Security Service,
Have any bearing on the US military ?
It's not like the US military provides security for diplomats anywhere else.
They never have. |

I never had a lot to do with Blackwater but on the few occasions I did they were all professional and I was glad to have them there. They do a dangerous job with ever changing rules of engagement and do it well. Had the US not cut the military down so much in the 1990's the use of PMC's would be less. Americans do not have the "stomach" to fight anymore, "we" are not willing to risk our lives in defense of anything and as a result we have to hire people who will. The few Blackwater guys I met were all retired SF and every one of them was just as professional as any active duty soldier I saw. Everybody in Iraq does their respective job and wants to go home at the end. (Like I did)There was very little "friction" between military and PMC's in my experience. |

I personally do not like the idea. Blackwater generally only hires ex-military which is ok but most of the people I've met are in it for the money. That makes me lose trust in them. I mean I can't really respect a person that won't fight for their country but will fight for a bigger bank account. |

There are plenty of jobs in the military to go around. Blackwater is just another example of the government thowing money at a problem, but then having no oversight. |

There are some things Mercenaries can do that the armed forces can't do. They're mostly there as a security asset.. |

They are horrible and not worthy of their 10x, more than the troops' salaries. The fleecing of America. |

They are nothing but thugs. It is unconstitutional for the US to use these mercenaries to fight our wars. They do not follow orders, they kill innocents and they have caused the Iraqi people to hate our guts forever. The first day of this war Iraqis shook my hand, a year later they threw stuff at us. |

plenty of work to go around,
how do you feel about woodstock being a national monument? Big priority from your leader
seems you folks are always charging up the wrong side of the hill |

I am not a marine nor American. However, I have seen the news of how Blackwater murdered innocent people. It is really a shame and disgrace. You Americans should be better than those criminals. I know many Americans who are so human makes you wonder if those committing crimes in AbuGarib and Blackwater are truly Americans. |

Delta Force provides security for US diplomats you tard. It's one of the missions of Delta Force, hostage rescue, security detail, counter terrorism. And Delta is the U.S. Army |
