Take care of a two year old, clean house, do laundry, cook and bake a ton since it is cheaper than buying things already made (yogurt, bread, corn and flour tortillas, pizza, grind my own wheat), keep in shape (I hate the stereo type that Army wives are fat), FRG leader, and help pther moms that are stuggling by watching their kids as well. Yes I am a stay at home mom - but there is so much more than just staying at home. I don't watch TV - infact I cancelled it about 2 months ago since there was never anything good on and the limited time I hate with my husband was spent in front of the TV - not quality time - so no soap opera's. Yes I know that there is also that stereo type that stay at home moms get together with others (especially if they are in the FRG) and gossip. I don't have time for that Jr. High crap. I sew, not clothes, but there is always someone that is going to have a baby and I make baby blankets as well. |

Just a mom right now...lol..hardest job ever! I have a Master's Degree and worked at the local University before my husband joined at the age of 27. I stopped working and started raising the family when he joined. As an E-4 we can't afford daycare and honestly, I love being able to be home with my son and raising him myself. Yeah, selfish I know! When my son starts school full-time I plan on going back to school for my law degree as time (and money) permits.

I stay at home. we don't want to spend all this money on daycare because I teach my son all the things that they would there. Plus, my husband and I spend more time together now then when I was working. It really took the stress out of our relationship. |
