How much down time do you get, aside from all the work and "tours" with marine detachments. I've also heard that I could be stationed on a flight carrier, but I'd like to know both sides of the story
Additional Details
If they aren't with the fleet marine force... does this mean I'll be spending many boring hours at sea? :D I'd love to catch up on Math, Literature, and Medical Terminology of course

Most Corpsmen are NOT with the Fleet Marine Force. I would think that most are at Naval Hospitals, some are on sea duty and a few, the real elite, are on independent duty serving on small-boys and submarines.
Independent Duty Corpsmen are trained to the level of a Physician's Assistant. I always had good treatment from these guys. |
