What's a good book or resource on the intricacies of troop mobilization? Obviously they have to be mobilized locally, regionally, and nationally. But how many carriers of what kind to move what number of troops where with how much fuel? They have to eat, have medical supplies, support personnel, etc. How do I find this out?

There are documents that give you the answers you want, relatively simply, but they are generally not floating around on public domain. The best you can do is look the basic capabilities of various transport vessels, be they ships, trains, planes, or trucks, and compare that to size of various troop units to figure out roughly how many logistics assets you'll need to get them where you want them. |
