How can I best broaden up for going on selection as an officer in the army?

By this I mean, what has worked well for you?
Is it better to hit the gym hard?
Or maybe there are better exercises that don't require a gym?

as a 6ft9 lanky git i can honestly say a higher intake of carbs followed by body strength exercises (press ups, sit ups, squats, pull ups, lunges, burpees ) and not forgetting your 5 aday has worked wonders for me, ive managed to fill out and tone up alot over the past 4 months, i don't believe you need to hit the gym as you can save yourself a wod of cash and still get a great work out at home. make sure you get progressively harder by adding more reps to these exercises each week (and adding weights with the squats) and push yourself hard with these exercises and you should broaden up with time and commitment. |

My brother just got out of the Marines, he is now enlisted into the Navy going through BUDS training. And he said weights won't really hurt, but run your *** off and do alot of workouts that require your body only. Such as hiking with a heavy backpack on, climbing a rope with weights tied to your ankles, things of that nature. Just work your *** off |
