How can I get a specific MOS in the contract?

How can I get a recruiter to gaurantee me one specific MOS? An air force recruiter says he can't gaurantee me the job, a marine recruiter says he can.. who is lying? I would really prefer going into the air force. My asvab scores are well above average and I qualify for any enlisted job that I want. So any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The Marine Corps recruiter is probably lying to you. I've heard of many poolees that were guaranteed a certain MOS. I even had one recruit in boot camp who believed that he was going to be a "fighter pilot" as an enlisted Marine! Lol. I would probably go with the Air Force when it comes to service. In the Marine Corps, it's more about where the USMC needs you and not about the individual. Good luck

All branches of service can "guarantee" you a specific MOS but their guarantee isn't going to be 100%. Things that can affect whether they will give you what you want can be: are you still in highschool? if so, it can be dependent on you graduating; it can depend on if you pass your job school (AIT) whether they have the openings you are looking for (especially true in the AF) and finally whether or not they really wanna give you that job. Every contract has a clause for the needs of the Army/Marines/Air Force/Navy and even if you sign up for one thing and train for it you may end up doing something entirely different. The Air Force never has recruiting trouble so they can be picky and are not likely to bend if they don't feel like it. I had a similiar problem with them some years ago and wound up joining the Army. hope that helps :)

Neither recruiter can guarantee you an MOS. You can only get that when you go to MEPS.
