I served my country and discharged Honorably. Up until now, I was proud of my service and wore it as a badge of honor. Now, I'm afraid to show my face because of Janet Napolitano claiming I have a propensity to be a terrorist.
Should I change my name to Bill Ayers or Jeremiah Wright, so I will be taken off of my countries Sh#$ list as a possible terrorist?
Is this a sad day for all veterans.

This was meant to be somewhat tongue in cheek. I have and will continue to be proud of my service and thankful to all veterans.
This was in regard to the Risk Assesment program directed by Janet.
It stated that veterans, due to their training, bad economy and possible traumatic stress, could pose a security threat to the country.

Not sure exactly what you are specifically talking about! Janet Napolitano specfically picked you out, personally?
Are you talking about the infamous "travel list" at the airports? It has been there long before "Janet Napolitan" took her job!
There are a lot folks that do not belong there, both veterans and non veterans. There are folks with names like "Smith", "Jones", "Brown", etc..., on that list! Heck, there are Congressmen & Senators on that list (and others with "high level security clearances").
If this is what you are referring to, all of us have a duty to demand a clarification on how folks who should not be on that list and get it off! The real frustration, how does someone get on it and how do they get off it or some method to quickly acknowledge you are "NOT THAT 'John Smith the terrorist'!
So now, let me ask you, list or no list, why should that affect how you feel about your Honorable Service? I don't get the connection! |
