Fake battle wounds and put yourself in for Purple Hearts like Long-Faced John Kerry did. Then you could appear in news conferences and accuse the people you serve with as war criminals, find a rich widow to sponge off and, who knows, the drones in Mass. might elect you to the Senate.

I haven't seen it yet except because of an accident or getting shot or a mental ill. Something that can stopping you from making your duties. Perhaps I never thought getting out, when I signed I knew I was giving my word, later when I resigned is because I was honored to do it. Besides is a family tradition, my great grandfather fought in the Spanish-American war being one from the very 1st bunch of Puerto Ricans that ever got into the USA Army, my grandfather fought in the WWII, my uncle fought in Korea, my father fought in Vietnam, my brother fought in the Persian Gulf and Bosnia and I just came 3 months ago from Iraq and before that Afghanistan. Do you think I would destroy a family tradition?

Hardship discharge, medical discharge. If you are that hardup to get out, why not just say you are gay.

why would you sign up for the military then decide to get out...you should have thought this through thoroughly before signing your life away....

there is no real way unless you get physically hurt and you are diabled in some way...some people say, pretend you are depressed, or admit you are gay, or just be a total pain in the *** while in the military...it doesnt work that way

i was in the navy for sometime and i have seen it all for trying to get out, if you are a girl, get pregnant before you go to boot camp, some people i have been with have pretended suicide which looks bad on your record and there have been guys who hit on other guys so they get in trouble and sent home

honestly, there is NO real way to get out under honorable, unless you get hurt and they release you

Most common answer you'll find is admit your gay. I'm not sure about this other one because I dont know the type of discharge of the top of my head but doing drugs is another one I've heard. These arent secrets. They're known to everyone. Anyway, the real "Honorable" thing to do is just do your time and keep your word. It's a slap in the face to those who have served when there are those who would go back on thier word. YOU volunteered. Some didnt have a choice. Then again if you can get out then maybe we're better off without you. GL on that.
