How can the Insurgents hold off the most powerful nation on earth?

One problem is that the U.S. is training our own killers, our own brand of insurgents. Just last week U.S. troops were forced to kill 6 Iraqi policemen. These are the policemen who are supposed to be protecting the government of Iraq. These are the people who are supposed to be on our side.

It takes 8 weeks to train our military, and after almost 7 years, we still can't train the Iraqi military to take over the nation?

Why? Because the Iraqi military is filled with different religious sects who have no intention of supporting a pseudo Iraqi government that was created by the U.S.

Meanwhile Halliburton and other companies rape the American taxpayer, while the bush's and Cheneys take home the profits for themselves and their friends...and all at the expense of our soldiers blood!

Don't believe me? Before the war the Cheneys reported an income to the IRS of about $150,000/year.

Last year, the Cheney's reported an income of $8 1/2 million to the IRS!! This is blood money. Cheney couldn't own Halliburton stock as the VP, so to solve this problem, he sells all his stock to his wife, while they continue to rake in their blood money.

Want to teach the Iraqi's the meaning of Democracy?

Then impeach Bush and Cheney and show the Iraqi's that democracy and freedom do exist and justice will be served and is worth fighting for.

Or we can continue to train our own killers, while our soldiers die?

the USA does have the most powerful army in the world, but we aren't fighting an army. We are fighting people who hide in caves, trees, etc, and pop out to blow themselves up along with whoever they can take down with them. They don't follow the rules of engagement, and aren't worried about killing innocent people. The US doesn't aim to kill the innocent people, but the terrorists who look like innocent people lots of times.

I am a proud American who is FIERCLY patriotic.

But in fairness to your question I must say that perhaps the answer is found in how we - a small poor nation of upstarts defeated the most powerful nation on earth in the 1780's.

Or perhaps how the English were defeated by the Irish in the 1920's.

I'll bet there are many more David and Golliath stories like this, and we better get smart over there (whatever that means - glad I don't have to decide policy over there!) or we will continue to have problems.

Our government is afraid of angering other muslim nations and turning them against us so they don't let the military go full out against the terrorist. The terrorist also have no problem placing innocents in danger knowing our military won't sacrifice innocents to get to them. If the military didn't follow these restrictions, Iraq would be pacified in a month.

The US military has the power to defeat the insurgents in a heartbeat, the problem would be that millions of innocent people would be killed in the process. You have terrorists blending in with the population, often using women and children as shields when necessary. These terrorists aren't dressed in military uniforms to make themselves identifiable. The rules of engagement make it difficult for our soldiers to even protect themselves in some situations, and you have all the bleeding heart media reporting on their every move which makes it difficult as well. As soon as the US civilian population, as well as the media, stop having to know everything our soldiers are doing, and reporting every detail, maybe they could make some progress. If George Bush was really the "Hitler" the left tries to portray him to be, he could send some bombs in and be done with the whole thing, but we don't have the same ideology as the terrorists. We actually do try to spare the lives of innocent people.

Seems that way since it is all you hear in the news. It would be nice to hear about the other side once in a while. But, that would not fit in with the media's agenda.

Same way Vietnam did in the 60 and the Afghan rebels did in the 80s to two of the most powerful nations in the world.
-Because we dont puposely try to kill civilians
-Because we dont just set random cowardly IEDs all over
-Because we dont dress like the innocent civilians we wear our uniform proudly and while that maks us a target we have pride in our natio
-Because we have a liberal press that jumps all over the soldiers when we killl an innocent civilian.
-As someone said we dont want to hit them with everything we got as not to offend the MUSLIMS world wide. Personally I dont care.
-Our nation again is full of liberals who when we torture someone trying to get info the liberals scream about how we violated their rights and all that nonsense. It is war, not happy time.

As it has been said in the past you must win the hearts of the people to stop this war. When the insurgents hear from both houses of congress that we have lost this war and we must pull out it gives them hope. Our troops are chained to the rules of engagement on how they can fight and the insurgents know this to use to their advantage. So if there was more support by the law makers and then let the military conduct a true house by house clearing of weapons then you would see a big drop in the bombings.
