How can the US solve this pirates and captain hostage situation without killing the captain?

I'm very puzzled. The pirates wants money and safety. We want the captain. How can the pirates get their assurance that after they get the money and we get the captain, that they won't be blown to pieces? Otherwise they're not just going to easily release the captain right?

I mean this is very complicated. Someone told me last night that the best way is to give pirates the money, let them go ashore with the captain, and have a 3rd non military party get the captain after that.....

what do you think the situation will turn out to?

They can't.
The pirates are in a bad situation, worse than us.
For us, we wait it out. If they decide to kill the captain then they have nothing to hold onto- they are f*cked.
But for the US, we can wait until they get tired (not tired enough to commit suicide by killing their only means of leverage) and then own the situation.

Best way to do this:
Surround the pirate ship with big mean looking stuff so they can't get away and scares 'em a bit.
Wait. Pirates can either harm their hostage (they wouldn't dare because then they will die/be in our hands with no way to escape) or they can wait too. But they don't have food and water. So they HAVE to give up soon. They can either choose death to themselves and the hostage, or capture but still living for themselves and hostage goes back to good hands.

That captain is awesome: sacrifices himself for the good of the crew and then tries to escape! That's the spirit!

I don't know why this is going on so long. The Captain should have been released by now. So, I am puzzled also. But, you must understand, we will NOT give the pirates any money as we do not negotiate with terrorists. Doing so will only encourage more kidnapping for ransom.
The pirates will soon be dead-I am sure. We can only pray the Captain will survive.
Let The Navy Seals do their job and get this mess over with.

Well the best thing to do is to give them the money, free the hostages, then then take care of the pirates after the hostages are safe.
