I don't understand your lack of support for the men and women serving in the armed forces. They are simply doing their job and following orders. Whether you agree or disagree with the administration and policies that sent them there, they are still risking their lives every day for you, your family, and the nation as a whole.
Why you would want to "show the troops that we don't support them" without "hurting feelings" is beyond me. |

I guarantee you that the vast majority of troops don't care about whether you support them or not because most people do. And I know for a fact that those people that don't support them are NOT hurting the troops' feelings. Thankfully our fine military men and women have thicker skin than that. |

You can't. I think that you don't support the politics involved with the war. You should support your troops, they are your fellow countrymen. If you must tell them that you are proud of them for being who they are. Thank them for putting there lives on the line for political crap. It is not their fault that they got sent into a crap-hole and you should be grateful that you weren't there. If it wasn't for them volunteering you would be forced to join the military. And my grandma always said if you don't have something nice to say don't say it. |

They didn't volunteer for praise. Most will tell you they just signed up because they felt like it was something they needed to do.

Don't worry, the troops are used to listening to cowards when they get back home. They know that when they go off and shed their blood for your freedom, some of you Patriots will abuse that freedom.
It has happened after every war. Some are just disappointed when this country didn't loose. So don't worry, they know exactly what you are and they will survive. When I returned from Vietnam I was spit on and called a baby killer. It hurt but I survived to see the cowards who ran to Canada or England return home to a hero's welcome or be elected President of the United States.
It is sad but we will survive. |

He just got back from a one year deployment, and I can tell you right now, keep your "support." Ain't nobody want your blithering, half a**, mealy mouth garbage. Keep it! You can't. Those people don't just protect freedoms in Iraq. They protect us on our own soil. When there is a disaster, who do they call? National Guard. They are over there as well. You need to support our troops because they don't just obey the orders to go overseas. They are called up when there is a disaster. (Okay, so it didn't happen with Katrina but that was the governor's fault) You need to keep that in mind. They aren't just to protect us from the foreign enemy. |

You respect them, you thank them, you smile at them, hug them, talk to them, try and get them their VA benefits, organize and help them as much as you can, give them, their kids, or their family any help or support you can. You should always support the troops no matter what your opinion on the war is. This is the simple reason why: a president has the choice of going to a war or not, congress has the choice of voting to premit the war or not, soldiers have no choice in anything - they only follow orders - and if they don't this action is punishable by lifetime in prison or death. Please give them love. |

Just don't be involved in their homecoming. If it is the issue of troops being sent to Iraq then it is the goverment decision that many do not support, it is the goverment who needs to be shown your views. Write a letter to your congressman, senator, or even the president.
If you are against anyone joining the military then it is the men and women who have been sent over seas whether they wanted to go or not.
If you do support the idea that someone in the military should not go to Iraq and should disobey orders to do so, find a soldier who doesn't want to go, who then can walk away and get a lawyer to help so that you can take his place spending years in prison for not following orders. |
