Only the intelligent military personnel will vote for Obama. |

Well firstly, your view is shared by many people in the military: http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/21/poll-troops-support-mccain/
However, there are some people who would vote for Obama. These could be the people that are in active duty and want an end to the war and are tired of their lives being in danger. That being said I'm not in the military so I can't comment intelligently.
Either way, both sides can be thankful that we've got people willing to step up to the plate and sacrifice their lives for their country. Simply amazing. |

Military support for McCain is 80% to 20% for Obama, they know all about how Clinton practically did away with their jobs & careers. |

I think its because they are tired of multiple deployments to the middle east. |

Pesky thing called Democracy. I know I know. What were they thinking when they allowed everyone the right to vote for the candidate of their choice?

It's easy... Go into the booth for voting, pick the Obama icon, and there you have it... the secret of voting.
I mean you have to look at everything they stand for, not their backgrounds, not just their 'IDEAS' cause once the election is over, they're still just ideas... It takes years for major changes, at which time, don't reelect him... If, If, If he makes poor decisions... It's not rocket science, pick who is the best candidate for "you". Not because your superior says he voting McCain, do it for you and your family. |

I have been in the military for long enough to know that the republicans love to send us to unnecessary wars . They are also poor strategists. when you are in the military you do not mind fighting. that's part of the job. But you want to fight for something worthy, not for this crap we are in today.
Also, cutting some funds for the military makes sense. You have no idea of all the money that is thrown to the toilets for worthless military projects.
To finish do we need to keep having 5000 nuclear heads when 20 only would be enough to completely destroy the earth.
I am voting Obama because I have enough of these far right wing politics of fear and control of population. USA is a great country and we deserve a lot better than this stupid team McCain/palin |

Apparently you haven't been there or done that. Military people can have whatever opinion they want. That is what they have been fighting for. The military is a very elite group. They live differently than others. Don't worry about them. They will take care of their own. |

68% of the military supports McCain....
After all him and Palin both have had children serve... They know they have their best interests at heart.
What these people do not realize, is that when you are in the military you are deployed whether there is a war or not. |

The greatness that is our democratic system of government.
There are more than a few people in the mil that are Dem's. Yet as you and I know the Mil does get shafted more often than not when a democrat is in the white house.
That's their right though.
Personally I like getting paid so I voted for McCain. |

yes, Obama has already said he will cut military spending drastically, thats what Carter did, and when Carter did it we had NO military! my husband is currently active duty and working on his bachelors, he would like to retire in the military, but if Obama cuts spending he will have no choice but to get out just like all the military did when Carter was in, SOCIALISM DOES NOT WORK!!! |

The Democrats won't cut the military, they will spend more on benefits and family care and outfitting. What they will cut is the USE of the military, saving our precious resource to be used as a last resort. |

Whether you believe it or not, some service members have the best interests of the nation in mind, uphold the Constitution, and don't want war without good reason. |

Being a military wife, I asked a similar question a month or so ago. You would not believe the hateful, angry answers I received from the liberals. Why can't people express their opinions without attacking someone? Anyway, most data in a recent Military Times suggest that close to 70% of active duty personnel are supporting McCain. However, 8 out of 10 military members that are African-American are supporting Obama. Some people do not realize that the Dems usually cut military personnel as well as decrease the amount of raises, etc. I have talked to Active Duty members who served during the Clinton adminstration, and they don't have anything good to say about it. I have actually been told by a member who served during Clinton's presidency that things were so bad during that Democratic administration, he will not re-enlist if Obama wins. There are many different types of people in the military: those who are planning on staying in until retirement, those who join b/c they don't have any other options, and those who join to get money for college or other financial reasons. There are many people in the military who are not all "gun-ho" about military life. They like the benefits, but don't like deploying or whatever. If you are in the military, you can deploy regardless of if there is a war or not. I'm not judging these people, I am just trying to explain that a person's military goals may influence his vote. If you just want to do your 4 or 6 and get out you may vote differently than someone who is in it for the long haul. However, many people are tired of the war so that may be their main reason for supporting Obama. Neither candidate is really that great overall anyway. |

I can vote for Obama & still support the military because I don't believe in any of the social views that McCain & Palin support. I'm pro-choice, I support gay unions, I'm all about creating a better health care system because I think its atrocious how many children die in the US because their parents lack health insurance. I also don't think that a woman who's governor of a state with a population smaller than my county should be 2nd in line to running a county. Have you seen her sitting with the foreign head of state? Her skirt rides up & she winked at him... Seriously - is that the type of person you want to have sitting as 2nd in command of this country? |

<-- This guy is voting liberal because...umm...I'M A LIBERAL. What kind of question is that? I'd rather "cut the military" and treat the rest of the country the way it should be treated than get that $20-a-month pay raise and screw the citizens. |

Yeah, great idea! Vote to preserve your job at the cost of the entire nation! Bravo! Very patriotic.
Tell me....uhm....when did FDR cut the military budget? In fact, take a close look at Clinton's military budget, and you'll see it wasn't cut, at all, it just didn't increase as massively as the Republicans wanted it to. The US spends a much higher percentage of its GNP on the military than any other nation, and in a time of massive economic downturn, wouldn't it make sense that all federal budgets would shrink? In fact, that's what I love about you republican types. You keep saying you want to cut government, reduce taxes and get government out of people's lives, but you endorse domestic spying programs, interference with state laws passed by initiative which allow for stem cell research, medical marijuana, and death with dignity, and you want to increase the military budget. Not great at math, are you? |

Uh, just because you join the military doesn't mean you are all for the war. 1st of all, people join the military for different reasons. I know a guy who joined because he felt working a regular 9-5 wasn't for him. 2nd, if my sister gets into a fight and I see she's about to be gained then I'll jump in...but does that mean I like to fight or I"m even for it. My hubby is in it, but I hope to GOd that obama get elected so this war can end and even if your not deployed you still get a lot of good benefits from the military |

Maybe some of us don't want to go protect people that hate us.
The Military should be for Defense. |

How ill informed are you? I have family in the military voting for Obama. The Bush Administration has put our troops in harms way for oil in Iraq. Also, the US general accounting office has found that literally billions of taxpayers money is unaccounted for in Iraq. There is no doubt I would vote for Obama to end the exploitation and graft of our military by the Bush administration. |

Kinda like how McCain has cut funding over and over? McCain is given a D grade by Veterans and Obama a B grade. My dad was a marine and I know many people in the military who are glad to vote Obama. |

If you or a loved is in the military doesnt the idea of someone thinking through and coming up with a plan BEFORE we send you off to war sound good? The Dems will bring some of our guys home from Iraq and move some of the over to Afghanistan. We will invest the troops and equipment we need to get the job done in a reasonable amount of time. We will then come home. Dems cut the military is just Republican propaganda. Especially in todays military, we are looking for ways to reduce the number of soldiers on the field. We still need people to operate the unmanned vehicles that are the future of warfare. Wouldnt you rather have your friends and family flying missions in Iraq from a base here in the states? |

What? How can you NOT vote for Obama if you are associated with the military in any way? I mean, what sane person wants to remain in a war for 100 more years or so?
Besides, Bush has caused so much National Security problems, cutting military spending is not an option.
McCain says that he will balance the budget in his first term (LOL)...and, of course, the military is a huge portion of our budget and he'd have to shave it to meet his goal. |
