Because Stealth tech is very expensive, B-2 bomber to build and maintain cost more then 2.3 billion$ for each unit, only now Russian developing PAK-FA stealth fighter plane joint version with India(only off the cost of F-22), comparable with F-22 and China developing J-13 fighter plane, both will come to production at 2012.
F-117 plane was destroyed by SA-3 missile at Serbia,
this made doubt for stealth, now latest air defense missile S-400 (tell to be detect and hunt Stealth plane). |

In effect, they're too poor to develop them.
Someday, however, the Chinese will steal enough of the technology to create their own versions without having to go through the very expensive development process that the US has.
By then, of course, the US will have something better. |

Chances are they do not have our technology yet. But then again The last administration did sell China some computer stuff.
But as far as we have seen (as civilians) they have not yet come up with anything close to ours. |

just because you have not seen them does not mean they are not in existance .. they call them "stealth" for a reason! |

The reason that China and Russia do not have stealth aircraft is simply because their base of people with the necessary technical skills is too small.
Designing a stealth aircraft is not really that difficult (especially for '1st Generation' stealth).
However the challenge is in building them in series production and maintaining them. In order to build and operate stealth aircraft you need a large enough base of technical skills (relying soley on domestic technology) that after you find the small percentage that can also meet security requirements you have enough people to build and maintain the aircraft. |

Stealthing an aircraft is a non-trivial design task. It requires a HUGE raft of calculations, either by raw manpower with unsophisticated software, or with highly sophisticated design tools. Even designing the software that will automate running the calculations is a very large task. Then comes the physical construction, another non-trivial task, including novel materials. Then comes the testing, and the redesigning, and the retesting, and... You get the idea.
The Russians absolutely have the *capability* to do this. They may not have the budget, and even if they have the budget, they may not feel that such aircraft are worth their trouble.
The Chinese may not yet have the necessary technology to pull this off yet, but if they don't, they will before long.
The thing with stealth aircraft is this: They cost a bundle. A BIG bundle. Their utility is limited in most applications - a conventional bomber or fighter will be 95% as useful in all regimes, and may be even more capable in some areas - things like raw speed. For nations that are not doing global long-distance power projection, they're of even more limited utility - Russia and China don't do the GloboCop thing, so have a much more limited need for such aircraft. And for the cost of one stealth aircraft, they can build four or five conventional aircraft. There is, after all, quality in quantity, too.
So - why not? Mostly because it's not worth it to them to spend the money. At least not until now.
Of course, I could be wrong - they both might have stealthy aircraft, and we just don't know about them.

They have something else that we do not know about because they do not have freedom of the press over there! Think about it! |

They do not have the technology....... yet. As someone pointed out, some day China will piece together enough ahem... "borrowed" information to achieve such technology. |

China.........Stealth fighters.......LMAO! Their tanks still use 60s-70s cold war era technology that they bought from the Russians. No, they don't have stealth fighters and it will be a very long time before they get one.
Russia can barley feed their people even though they are doing better since Putin took over, but stealth aircraft, no. Stealth naval ships......I can see it. |

Stealth is expensive and according to the Russians obsolete. Russia already advertises systems, such as the S-400 Triumf, that can detect and destroy stealth aircraft. |

Russia - Skat (stingray)
Both in testing phases. |

Lets not forget Russia still has the ability to blow up the world many times over. The fall of communism was something many people welcomed but Putin is on record as saying it was the biggest mistake of Russias history.Be in no doubt Russia dont need stealth bombers...their old radar system in Belarus remains the most powerful in the world. The cold war never ended it just went to sleep. Now its woke up.China is an ally of Russia is cosying up to other neigbours. Both Nostradamus and the Bible speak of Russia starting WW3 with attacks on Europe.Stealth bombers are not part of their equasion....they can do this quite easily without them. |

They don't really feel it is a necessity however I believe I heard on a show on the military channel that either Russia's Su-37 or Su-47 but I forget which one. |

China is working on one, they claim by 2012 they should have one- i think its called a J-11 or something let me look it up.
Well its not the J-11- but i know i saw that China claimed to have a stealthed aircraft entering service by 2012.
anyways this is what i found on stealth aircraft

They don't have any need for them. They're not at war with America, which is the only real arial threat. They have ballistic missiles and nuclear warheads. |

Do you know this for a fact?
With America currently just rushing in to invade other nations, with or without a solid reason, would it not be wise for other nations to have them on hand, just in case? |
