But the majority of CITIZENS have never served in the military, so why would you expect the profile of the anti-war community to be any different?
Here's some citizenship 101 for you:
In a democracy, the military is subordinate to the government, and the government are (very theoretically, I know) controlled by the citizens through the medium of voting. So it is the duty of citizens to very closely scrutinise, question and criticise attempts by the government to use the armed forces in any way: the citizenry is the only thing that can prevent incompetent governments from getting soldiers killed.
By siding with an incompetent government and demanding a low level of questioning of their actions, you do no service to the military whatsoever.
Personally, I find it outrageous that such a militarily and strategically illiterate government as that of Bush is allowed such a free kick by you 'I love the army more than thou' types: I know of no war in US history where the military itself was so excluded from the planning and running of a war. And last election you all fell for the dizzying spin that somehow Bush has more military credentials than Kerry... so I'm afraid I have to jump all over you because you are hypocritical on so many levels.
And sheer idiocy often hits nerves, you'll find.
Damn, guess I won't get top answer for this one. |

How come the majority of war supporters in the current administration never served in the military?
Lol, you struck a nerve alright. The stupid argument nerve. |

1) This is based entirely on your opinion of how many war protesters served in the military or didn't. You don't have a factual claim for this, you can admit it. You did say "majority" , so you deserve to be jumped on.
2) A majority of Americans haven't served in the military, a majority of White House residents have never served in the active military, a majority of this administartion's power brokers haven't served. Why be surprised that a majority of any American group haven't served?
3) Women, women have never served in the Army in any great numbers, so don't they get an opinion? |

because the majority of the human population has never served in the military.
also, if you're against something based on ethical grounds, you're less likely to join them in the first place. |

Well....chances are if they don't like war, they wouldn't want to join the military, because that means that they would fight in a war.
Some become war protesters after they see what happens in the military and in war. However, you asked why protesters usually didn't serve--which I assume again, is because they don't like war, so why would they join an organization that exists to wage war? It's self-defeating to do so. |

because a majority of people in general didn't serve in the military
just like the majority of war supporters didn't serve in the military
there are many vietnam veterans in congress, of these, john mccain is the only one who is for staying in iraq, and he saw the war from a prison cell (i know he is a war hero). |

Is that so? The way I see it the current sitting vice-president...NEVER SERVED!! The current sitting president...AWOL!! Condi Rice...NEVER SERVED!!
Yet they don't think twice about sending young men and women into war. The protestors are the ones who come back and tell the story of what is really going on. |

How can they protest if they are already dead? |

because they are chicken...the only thing they have the balls for is sitting on their duffs and BSing about it. They wouldn't know how to protect their country let alone their own family. But if their life was in danger they would be the first to comlpain that the US is not doing enough for them. And still not pick up arms to protect themselves.....They just expect everyone else to do it for them....They can all jump in a lake! |

If you notice, in the Bush regime very few have actually served in the armed forces. If you look closer, you will notice that more people that have survived in an armed conflict are actually anti the war and those that have never seen the horror of war are more hawkish. |
