How competitive is it to become a Control and Recovery or Special Investigations Officer in the US Air Force?

I would also like any information on experiences in either of these positions, personal or by someone you know, would also be appreciated. I am meeting with a recruiter tomorrow and would like some unbiased information on careers. Thank you!

Control and Recovery contains two careers. One is CRO (Combat Rescue Officer) and the other is STO (Special Tactics Officer). These careers are the officer version of Pararescue and Combat Control.
Both are Special Operations and both have high attrition rates. The training pipelines are long and the competition to even try out is pretty stiff. You'll want to be prepared if decide to try this route.

I assume OSI has similar requirements as Army CID. You'll will probably need to be an E4 promotable w/ 90 credit hours of higher education and prior civilian law enforcement experience or complete a 12 mo internship, on top of being recommended by your command and qualifying for a top secret clearance.
