I'm a recent college graduate- and I'd like to join the military. My husband is a naval officer- and after seeing what he went through to get in- I'm unsure if I'll be able to get in. I worked 50+ hours a week to put myself (and him) through college, so my GPA isn't as strong as his (I have a 2.9- he graduated with a 3.4). I can't find any information about GPA requirements and what the army is really looking for- I have a non technical degree.

Sorry- I meant specifically becoming an Army officer. I'm already aware the navy and air force will not take me (although I'm not totally opposed in enlisting). Just curious!

Never settle for less especially after busting your butt trying to get through college. I don't think you should have a problem joining the army as a officer as long as you have a degree and depending on what your going to join as MOS wise. You need to talk with a recruiter even if its a short convo over the phone I would think since you've finish school all you have to worry about is OCS but im enlisted so lol oh and Ive worked with a lot of idiot officers so if some of them can make it through I know you can.

Why won't the Navy or Air Force take you? It takes more than a number to be an officer. My friend has an English degree and he sat on his butt for a whole year until he decided to apply for OCS. Now, he's putting in a package to fly.

Also, since your husband is in the Navy it will be easier to station you together. Inter-service detailers don't work together because the billets are so drastically different, so for detailing purposes you're SOL.

You need to talk to a reliable source (a good recruiter) before you give up.
