How do I go about getting a the waiver for a Reentry Code 3 (on my DD214)?

Its been 6 years or so since I was in the ARMY. Had troubles with it and was discharged. It says Honorable on my dd214. I've heard I need to get a waiver from a doc to re enter. How do I go about it?

Talk to a recruiter. be advised that as of 25 March the Army is no longer taking anyone requiring a waiver (with the exception od dependency waivers), so good luck.

according to the newest USAREC message the ARMY is taking very limited PS that need waivers. its really going to depend on what kind of waiver you need for it. you can either email me here and i can explain it to you, or the most easiest thing to do would be to go to your local recruiting station and ask them directly. if you do that take your DD214 with you. if you dont have it and they have access to REDD reports like i do then they can pull it up for you at the station.

basically you may or may not be eligible, but you cant catch fish without a line in the water

no PS who need waivers are getting back in regardless of why they need a waiver. this came down Early April and will continue for the foreseeable future.. expect, at minimum, to the end of the fiscal year.

if your RE code means personality disorder/failure to adjust.. won't happen even AFTER the restrictions are lifted.

Check out the National Guard. Volunteer to deploy overseas, you will get a new DD Form 214. This will also make it easier to transfer from Guard into the Active Duty. Sign up for the least amount time to see if you like it. There are allot of opportunities in the Guard. It is a great place to get some good years under your belt. Check it out.

They are issuing NO Waiver's for anything...
Especially RE 3 Codes...

Being as you are hinting at a Mental Health
discharge...there is NO Chance for you to
re-enlist ever...

I am not sure when this question was posted, but as of now 16APR11 the only Prior Service being brought back to the Army is for Special Forces. You can try the Air Guard, but yet again with the Behavioral Health issue it will be very hard.....I hope you didn't burn your bridge. De oppresso liber
