How do i convince my mom about the Army?

LOL, my mom hated the fact I was joining up as well. Course that was 7-8 years ago now. Just remind her often on what your job will be, you'll be safe, and you wont be shooting anyone (i never did and neither did anyone in my betallion lol). I can almost guarantee she will support you after your enlisted, and will definitely support you if your deployed. So do your best to convince her now that it is your dream and you'll be safe. If she just doesn't want to let you go, tough @#$% your all grown up now lol.
The army takes care of their own very well, even after they ETS. While your in, free medical, dental, pharmacy, etc. They take care of your immediate family (if you end up having a spouse) and will make sure your healthy and physically fit at all times (don't i know it). Among many many other things. Heck, I'm out now and if i get in a car wreck, have to take an ambulance to the VA hospital, get some sort of sugury, and its all on the same day? 50 bucks. If the accident was because my knee gave out (one of my 'service related' problems) its all FREE.
Your mom will come around.

if its ur passion and desire. Then your mother should clearly understand what you want to do. Mothers are heavily attatched to there kids. I wouldnt let this affect you to much its a slow process let it take its course :-)

You can't "make" your mom do anything, just like she can't "make" you. Feelings can't be controlled like that. She will hopefully come around eventually. Most parents do. It's just a parent-thing. She would probably have some sort of mixed feelings about you with regards to something else, such as moving away to college, or other things that are dramatically life-altering. Give her time.

I joined the military at 17 year's old. I'm retired now, but my mom was 100% against it. But once she saw me in uniform and saw how much I had grown up she was behind me. Mother's/father's will always worry about there children. I have two son's who just graduated from high school and I don't want them in the military because I want them to do college first. Please remember one thing your mother will always have YOUR BACK. But she will NEVER stop worrying about you not even when you are married,Thanks for serving and I hope you well in the Military!

You can't really convince her to change her underlying feelings . Eventually she'll get use to it . I've had this happen to me , my mother gradually gets use to something that I'm doing that she may not necessarily agree with but fakes it.It's hard , but when she sees your happiness it'll influence her to be more happy about what you are doing. Of course she's worried like any other mom . Don't worry " things have a way of working out in the end"
