I'm in the AAFC. I have only been in the AAFC for a several months, but in that time i have done quite a few things. On a night of the week (for me Wednesday), we goto a meeting place, and do drill (marching) for about an hour, than we go off and have some lessons, air recognition, service knowledge, learning about camping etc etc.
To enroll just google it, and goto a new member meeting which will be on the nearest squadrons website. After you have enrolled, you will go on a 1 day camp to an air force base, get kitted (given your clothes and camouflage clothes, shoes etc) and learn how to march and other lessons. At the end of the camp you will be expected to do a parade sort of thing to your parents :P
Its not hard.
Other activities are gliding in a canvas plane, motor flying (real plane), bivouacs (camping) and a lot more.
I just returned from marching on Anzac day, which was great fun.
My highlights of air force cadets would be the bivouacs, they are generally held twice a year, but more if you do the competitions.
Many other activities, email me if you need more information or goto this webiste. |
