How do you feel about the Marines Vs. Army?

They are two different things. In general the Marines are better at smaller fast things, like evacuations, hostage rescue, establish a beachhead. The Army is better at big picture things, like running an entire theater of operations and long range planning. Even in WWII, the Marines took the beach, made a beachhead, and then the Army came in to clear the island and rebuild it while the Marines prepared for the next landing. The Army can do all the things Marines do, just Marines specialize in it, but the Army has more overall capabilities because of its long range nature, such as Civil Affairs, Medical... all the things you need to stay someplace.

My Marine instructors at the Field Artillery School used to say, if its Battalion or below, give it to the Marines, if its Brigade or above, let the Army handle it.

They're family. And with being a family comes some competition and jesting. On the inside they are buddies though. No soldier or Marine I know would ever turn down another standing at his side.
And the way to phrase it is not "Neither is better". The correct way would be "Both are better" since they are a team.

I've always heard that the marines are the real bad*** guys, not that army guys aren't of course just that the marines are the guys you call when you want sh** done!

The Marines are better if you're joining to be a part of something. The Army lures in a lot of its people with signing bonus's ect. When you're a Marine your a Marine for life wether you spend 4 years in the service or 20! When you're a soldier, it lasts only as long as you are in the service. Plus IMO Marines are trained better ect. We may not have the best weapons but they make do and still kick some major @$$!

It all depends upon the experience that some individuals have while they serve. A marine Lcpl will have a drastically different outlook on the overall military experience compared to a Sgt Maj. Although the same can be said for soldiers. I've spoken to some army soldiers and they themselves sometimes say that the idea of a challenge is far more appealing than just the signing bonuses that most army recruiters offer.

The Marines celebrate the Marine Corp birthday; the army does not. Many traditions and courtesies that other branches of the military do not hold in such high regard the Marine Corp does. Nine times out of ten you will get the same phrase out of every Marine that you ask what branch of the military do they serve in. They will say they aren't in the Marines, they are Marines.

Obviously I am a Marine so I may be a little biased. Marines take care of there own, in and out of the field.

first off neither the corp or army is better.. because there has been times in iraq that the marines loss some of their areas and was given to the army to take back control.. 2nd if you wanna be like 100% military and have no other life or family.. join the marines.. if other wise join the army.. ya the marines are bad *** and all.. but army has the rangers and sappers.. and ranger and sapper skool is one of the hardest skools to make it threw in the world...
