How do you roll up socks like in the military?

My friend just got out of air force basic and his socks were rolled into these perfect little packages. Since I'm going to college and want to save space in my luggage, I'd like to do the same thing with my socks.
Additional Details
I've tried but the heel of the sock always gets in the way and makes it look bumpy.

Step 1 ask him to show you how, just kidding here's how its done in the Navy. take a pair of clean socks and lay the 1st one down smooth it out, lay the next on top smoothly, now start at the toes and roll them into a tube when you reach the top open the outside top layer and fold it back over the bundle just made, adjust it so its all neat. and there you go boot camp sock roll

Put them flat against each other. Then, roll them up together from the toe up about 3/4 of the way. Then, take one of the mouths and fold it backward over your roll.

Line them up, heals to the inside. Start at the toes. Once to the top, pull one opening over the other. Pull em tight. Make em smile. Happy socks are those who have been rolled tight.

the good life
basically what the air force and navy said above me...army

to save space you can also roll t-shirts up

bendover
I always roll mine up like that and I've never been in the military. It's easy. Hold them side by side, grab the edge of one and pull out, then take the other side and stuff it in. Not hard.
