Buckeye Fever
|
yes, in the military, we go by GMT (Greenwich Mean Time), there for it would be 1947, or nineteen forty seven hours. |

say if its 1:00am it would be 0100,2:00am would be 0200 and if its 3:15 it would be 0315 you just adding in the last numbers and putting the zero in front. now pm you add 12. if its 1:00pm then it would be 1300,2:pm would be 1400,3:15pm would be 1515. not hard once u get the hang of it |

Midnight (0000 hours) to noon is 12 hours. The time at noon is therefore 1200 hours. Noon to 7:47 PM is 7 hours and 47 minutes, which is equal to 1200 hours plus 7 hours and 47 minutes, or 1947 hours in military time. |

No offense to my man Buckeye Fever, for I'm a big BUCKS fan, but your not completely correct. The military doesn't go by GMT, for GMT is just that, GMT. It is the time in Greenwich. Then you have the East Coast, GMT-5hours. and Central time is GMT -6hrs... etc..
Military goes by Military Time. A 24 hour Clock.
And to answer the question, yes its 19:47. Spoken like its typed, Nineteen Forty Seven. Some like to say Nineteen Hundred, but applies mainly when not using the minutes also...like 19:00 is Nineteen Hundred Hours. Otherwise, drop the Hundred. |

and FYI... after 12noon.. add whatever hour it is to 12.. So 747pm becomes 12 plus 7=19 and then u add minutes. |
