How do you tell your parents you want to join the millitary?

1. I DID MY RESEARCH, MOM AND DAD.
The first thing you need to do is do your research. Make sure that when you come talk to your parents, you've got the answers to plenty of common questions. Be prepared for the "what if you go to war" question. You parents aren't angry that you want to join. They just want to protect you.

2. I WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE MILITARY. AND NOTHING WOULD MAKE ME HAPPIER THAN HAVING YOUR SUPPORT.
Next, make sure you bring it up to them in a non-conflictual way. Don't come to your parents saying "I'm joining no matter what you say". Go to them in a way that is positive and reaffirms them that you're committed and not just going on a whim.

3. LET'S GO TALK TO A RECRUITER TOGETHER.
Make sure you involve them in the entire process start to finish. Make them feel like they're helping you become a better person because that's exactly what's happening.

4. THANK YOU
Always make sure that if you receive a positive response, that you let your parents know how grateful you are.

My dad was 22 years in the Air Force and was dead set against me joining the military. I came to him in a professional manner and followed these rules. call a recruiter for help alongside.
first, try to tell them how will the MILITARY Help YOU!
and then tell them how will the military Shape your future.
THEN Remind them that the Country needs help.
And there is a need to Kill some Bad Muslims/islam/pakistanis.

and if they still don listen CALL UR RECRUITOR AGAIN and Set up a MEETING!
and convince them.

I joined the Army in January, I'm only 17. I think it was a little easier for me since my older brother did it two years ago, and my dad is also in. I had wanted to do this since i was 15, so i actually told my parents i long time ago I found out all the information and benefits and showed it to my mom and my recruiter came out to the house and went over everything too.

Your best bet, I think, is to talk to a recruiter gather all the information u can and look at all the benefits and have he/she talk to your parents.

I told them I wanted to do it. That easy and simply put. They couldn't be more proud of me and my accomplishments. Know why you want to join and what you want to do. Your parents know you pretty well and will probably not be surprised. I joined the Navy.

My first meeting with a recruiter included both of my parents. So my parents knew right away. and they were present for all the first hand information.

The bad reaction from my parents did not come until I told them I wanted to enlist as infantry 11x

well i didn't join but i am going to but i just came out and told them and i did my research before hand to explain to them. My dad was very supportive and my mom was to shes just nervous lol mothers right. What ever you choose im sure your parents will respect it.

I told them I've enlisted and already in the DEP and shipping out right after High School Graduation!

Serving in the military is a family tradition , anyway!

I said "Mom, Dad, I'm joining the Army." My dad tried to talk me out of it, but my mom said I was an adult and that it was my choice. I went off to basic, and the rest is history...

I joined the Marine Corps when i was 17. It was hard, they didn't want me to, especially since the war was really kicking off. What I did, and I suggest you do is do your research, and tell them, and don't back down. Say "mom/dad this is what I'm going to do, with or without your support, but I hope you will support me in this." Then you have to be a man and just do it.
