Someone in the family took a test in high school. Next thing I know there was a recruiter from each of the services arriving unexpected on different days.
They followed it up with phone calls, continued the calls and they asked if I knew why they were all calling. They said his test scores were the highest they had ever seen.
He didn't join up but
the kid works for the government now.

you're picked for your attitude and ability to do the job.
obviously you have to do basic training first with whichever service you are in, you then progress and learn and are channeled into what you want to do/what your abilities show you're able to do. |

Both of my brothers (twins) are in the US Army as Infantrymen. They both scored fairly high on their ASVAB's which is a standerized military test. And also a language aptitude test to see how well you are with words, verbs, etc are two main ways you get into military intelligence. |
