How does the Act and the ASVAB differ from each other?

ASVAB pretest are limited, so i was wondering if taking the Act will help improve my score?

The ACT requires most people to prepare and/or study to get good scores.
The ASVAB only requires you to study if you have a difficult time doing 2+3 or spelling your name.

ACT only tests your understanding of very limited subjects, all of which are in your head.
ASVAB is a very broad aptitude evaluation that tests your basic ability in many subjects: from car mechanics to electronics to database entry.

The ACT is for college entrance and the ASVAB is for military recruitment. The 9 subjects on the ASVAB will be used to figure out what MOS (Military Occupation Specialty) you qualify for. It will test your basic knowledge for each part and take the composite score from General Science (GS), Arithmetic Reasoning (AR), Word Knowledge (WK), Paragraph Comprehension (PC), Mathematics Knowledge (MK)
Electronics Information (EI), Auto Shop (AS),Mechanical Comprehension (MC), and Assembling Objects (AO) to figure out what job in the military you will be best suited for.

You have to understand that this is a test of common sense and not furthering your education. It will not be as hard as the ACT. I would suggest you purchase ASVAB books and study from them. Good luck.
